Adam Page Warned Over Working Too Stiff, Details On Heat With CM Punk

Adam Page & CM Punk

It has been revealed that Adam Page was warned by Arn Anderson last year over claims that he was working too stiff.

On the August 17th edition of AEW Dynamite CM Punk stood in the centre of the ring with microphone in hand and looked poised to address Jon Moxley, who at the time was AEW Interim World Champion.

However, before turning his attention to Moxley, Punk went off script to call out Hangman Adam Page, before branding him a coward. The surprise move was reportedly a “receipt” for comments that Page made during the lead up to the pair’s match at Double or Nothing. As a result, the issues between the two men were said to be very real.

Speaking during the now infamous post-All Out media scrum shortly after becoming AEW World Champion CM Punk again went on the attack. After also hitting out at the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, Punk called Page an “an empty-headed f*cking dumb f*ck.”

Meanwhile, after the show Fightful reported that Page had been spoken to in 2021 over claims from talent that he worked too stiff. This naturally led to many linking the two situations. However, a new report from Fightful Select has claimed that this isn’t the case.

Although the report does note that last year Page was spoken to by Arn Anderson over lightening up in the ring. Despite this, Page was said to be well liked backstage outside of an incident where two wrestlers got injured, but that was not related to Punk’s comments.

The report adds that it was believed by many that the two men got along well until this Spring and their feud over the AEW World Championship.

It has been suggested that Punk has little backstage following his post-show outburst with even those who normally support him commenting that they would have handled things differently.
