With All Elite Wrestling going head-to-head with NXT this week, owing to the beginning of the 2022/23 NBA season, the Tony Khan-helmed promotion went all out with the episode. The main event saw an anticipated first-time clash between ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Jon Moxley for the latter’s AEW World Championship.
While the match was well-received, it didn’t go quite as planned. A Moxley-delivered Lariat saw Adam Page take a sickening bump, ultimately ruling the match in favour of Jon Moxley, who remained the AEW World Champion via referee stoppage. Page was subsequently stretched from ringside and taken to a nearby hospital, having gone limp as soon as his body hit the mat.
“I’m Doing Alright” – Adam Page
Fans have been concerned about Adam Page’s health in the aftermath of the incident, with various reports emerging from trusted media outlets. PWInsider was among those who informed fans that he’d suffered a suspected concussion, while the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer confirmed that Page flashed the audience a thumbs up on his way out.
Taking to Twitter, the one-time AEW World Champion confirmed his status, stating that he was “doing alright”.

The extent of Adam Page’s injury is yet to be officially confirmed, though the fact he himself has stated he’s doing alright is a good sign. To understand the severity of the injury, Jon Moxley was noted as praying that Page would be able to walk and talk following the incident, summarising the potentially life-altering consequences the move could have had.
Having been at the top of AEW since the company’s inauguration in 2019, Adam Page is a former World and World Tag Team Champion, holding the latter alongside Kenny Omega. His work is often linked as some of the best in AEW’s history, with his arc vs. Omega and Revolution 2020 bout alongside him vs. The Young Bucks celebrated as one of the best tag team matches ever.
