Adam Page Injury Scare On AEW Dynamite, Update Provided On Severity

Adam Page Injury Scare On AEW Dynamite, Will He Compete At Revolution?

Adam Page’s status for AEW Revolution looks to be in serious doubt.

Page competed in the main event of the February 21st episode of Dynamite, teaming with Rob Van Dam and Hook to take on Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland and Brian Cage. Towards the end of the match, Page was set up in the Muscle Buster but countered, tagged out and rolled out of the ring. As the camera cut to Page, the former World Champion repeatedly instructed the cameraman to stop filming him.

Additionally, fan footage from the event saw Page heavily limping to the back and was overheard saying “It’s bad.” Page and Strickland were set to face Samoa Joe in a 3-way match for the World Championship Revolution, but Page’s involvement is in serious doubt. No update from AEW has been provided at the time of writing.

How Serious Is Adam Page’s Injury?

Addressing the injury and Page’s status for Revolution on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that AEW will have to address this in the next few days as the pay-per-view is just over a week away. Additionally, someone at the taping overheard Page saying that it was a suspected broken ankle:

Bryan Alvarez: “He has to have it looked at. Could be a broken ankle.”

Dave Meltzer: “That’s what I heard. They’ll have to say something. It would be on Saturday’s show one way or the other, if they don’t announce something even sooner. But I think that on Saturday show they’re gonna have to address it if they think that he can’t go. Just the nature of what happened, the preliminary thing. I mean, I heard from someone who was at ringside and said, when he was on the ground like right in front of him. He was basically saying, he thought his ankle was broken. So, hopefully not.

Sometimes a broken ankle does heal, I don’t say relatively quick, but it’s not like a six month thing. The nature of the break if it’s clean [Bryan Alvarez – It ain’t a 10 day thing]. No, no, no, no, absolutely not. Guys have done sh*t with broken ankles. I mean, it’s not gonna happen here if it’s truly broken. But guys have worked on broken ankles, believe it or not.”

Page was in the main event of an episode of AEW Dynamite that was described as “very chaotic backstage.”

[Update]: Some very positive news has been provided on the condition of Page courtesy of Fightful Select. It is reported that Page’s injury was all part of an angle and he was “completely fine” when returning to the backstage area. One talent told Fightful “Yeah, he’s okay. He’s just good at his job.” It should also be noted that this is not an official update from AEW themselves.

Despite the positive update, Adam Page’s participation at AEW Revolution remains uncertain.
