Adam Page could be off AEW TV for a very long time.
Page, who has been desperate to become World Champion once again, did not get the job done at Revolution. Challenging Samoa Joe for the title in a 3-way match that also featured Swerve Strickland, Page became unglued and wanted to win the title at all costs. Page attacked multiple referees to prevent the winning pin from taking place and struck Strickland with the title in a win-at-all-costs mentality. However, despite Page’s best efforts, the former World Champion was the one defeated by Joe at the event. According to a new report, there may be a particular reason for this.
As reported by Fightful Select, there was word prior to the event that Page would be taking extended time away from AEW. There has been no official word as to when this time begins, but it is speculated that the attacks on referees may have something to do with it. If Page is taken off TV, it could be “for a few months.”
The absence was confirmed on a recent episode of Dynamite as Page was announced as suspended by The Young Bucks, who later aligned themselves with Kazuchika Okada.
After nearly four months away, it has been reported that Adam Page will make his return imminently.
Adam Page Nearly Missed AEW Revolution
Although Page did compete at the pay-per-view, there was a point where his status for the show was very touch and go. As was seen on the February 21st Dynamite, Page appeared to have picked up an injury in the match, which was suspected to be a broken ankle. However, the injury was revealed to be a worked injury as Adam Page was reportedly dealing with a personal issue. The injury angle was put in place so that Page had an out for the show in storyline if he could not make it.
