Adam Copeland Opens Up About His Recovery Journey and When He Was Cleared to Return to AEW

Adam Copeland has provided more insight into his road to recovery and when he was cleared to compete again in AEW.

Side-lined with a fractured tibia for the second half of 2024, The Rated R Superstar made his return at Worlds End alongside FTR to stop World Champion Jon Moxley and The Deathriders from attacking the roster after the main event.

While Copeland is now back in the company full-time and returned to the ring on the January 1st episode of Dynamite, things could have been a lot different for the former TNT Champion.

Speaking with Mojo Rawley of TMZ Sports prior to his return match, Copeland stated that he feels 100% and has been cleared for months but had more pressing priorities before making his return:

“I’m good to go. The rest of my body feels great. My leg feels great. I’ve actually been cleared for three months, but with everything that happened with the Hurricane, we all had the discussion that it was more important to be home and get everything at home squared away, and then get back to work.

“Everything feels great. In that time, I’ve been healthy and going to the ring and been able to go 100 in the gym. I feel ready.”

Adam Copeland Undergoes Name Change

The return match saw the Hall of Famer team with FTR to defeat Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. As Copeland was making his entrance, the AEW star revealed his new name.
