Adam Copeland looks to be forming a faction with FTR in the near future.
On October 18th, a trademark was filed through the United States Trademark and Patent Office for “Rated FTR.” The trademark is said to cover “the categories of hats; Shirts; Bandanas; Shirts and short-sleeved shirts; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts.”
Applicants on the filings are Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler and Adam Copeland, with Copeland filing under “Wet Yeti Inc,” which is the group that filed for multiple trademarks on October 1st following the shock debut at WrestleDream.
Copeland has been outnumbered ever since his AEW debut as Christian Cage, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne have frequently ganged up on the former World Champion. As seen on the October 14th episode of Collision, the former Tag Team Champions evened up the odds at the start of the show and at the end of the episode and stood tall with the Rated R Superstar.
FTR and Copeland have been friends for a number of years. As seen in The Rated R Superstar’s 24 documentary about his return to the ring, Wheeler trained alongside the Hall of Famer to prepare him for the 2020 Royal Rumble.
This is the second faction trademark that Harwood applied for in October, with the application for “CMFTR” being submitted on October 5th, much to the surprise of fans as this was filed after CM Punk departed All Elite Wrestling. The CMFTR trademark filing and shock tag title loss caused some to speculate that FTR was considering an exit from the promotion. However, Dax Harwood confirmed that the future of FTR is in AEW.
Adam Copeland Says Goodbye To Edge
Wrestling fans are still getting used to calling the Hall of Famer by his new name after knowing him as Edge for over 25 years. Following the shock arrival at WrestleDream, Adam Copeland stated that he has been his authentic self more than ever in the final stages of WWE and that Edge was always a character.
