Adam Cole Reveals Why He Wants To Face These Three AEW Wrestlers: “Done An Unreal Job”

Adam Cole Shares How AEW Kept His 2021 All Out Debut Secret

AEW TNT Champion Adam Cole wants to face these three stars.

Earlier this month at the Dynasty PPV, Adam Cole defeated Daniel Garcia to crown himself the brand-new TNT Champion. Soon after, his first title defence took place in an open challenge match, which Claudio Castagnoli answered.

Now, almost a month later, in an interview on the Battleground Podcast, Cole named more stars he would like to defend his title against.

“Oh man, again, the tagline of, ‘Where the best wrestle, when you look at our roster. I mean, it really is stacked with the best wrestlers in the world. There are so many guys that I would love to face that I haven’t had the chance to within AEW. Will Ospreay is a guy I’d love to step into the ring with. Kevin Knight is absolutely incredible. He’s done an unreal job. I’d love to step into the ring with him.

For the longest time, Daniel Garcia was someone I wanted to fight, and then we had a trilogy of matches, which was fun. So, man, there is just there are so many guys on our roster that I would love to step into the ring with.

Part of the reason that the open challenge happened is to get the chance to face off, and step into the ring with some of these guys who I hopefully will get the chance to do so, because I gotta solidify myself as the best TNT Champion of all time, and part of that will be these matches that I have and the challenges that I face. So, man, I could go on and on through our whole roster, but quite a few guys I’d love to step into the ring with.”

Enjoying his first title reign for the promotion, Cole now wants to face some of the top names on the roster and prove why the ‘best wrestle’ in AEW.

Adam Cole Explains Why His WWE Debut Almost Ended In A Disaster

Earlier this month, during an appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show, Adam Cole opened up and explained how his WWE debut several years ago almost ended in a disaster.

“I am so glad you brought this up because I don’t know if I’ve ever told this story before. I’m not sure if I have. But, as you had mentioned, huge night for me (at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III). Huge night for me. I know I’m gonna be involved in this major angle. Like you had said, kicking Drew McIntyre. I’m nervous, I’m excited. The adrenaline going through my body in that moment was wild and I remember coming down in jeans and dress shoes and not even really thinking about it.

There’s so much other stuff going through my mind. But as I’m going down and the crowd is reacting, I feel my adrenaline building so like, my legs are getting a little Jell-O-ee, my hands are tingling. I’m so, so excited. When I go to get into the ring, I do almost fall… and the camera didn’t catch it.

First of all, so glad I didn’t fall. Can you imagine? If you debut and just fall on my face. How wild that would have been. But yeah, I was so excited and then when I went to go in and run, like you said, with dress shoes and jeans on, I almost lose my balance for a second but I caught myself, thank goodness.

So yeah, at that point, I was like, never again am I gonna be wearing jeans and dress shoes specifically. I’ve done quite a few run-ins in jeans but I at least gotta wear some comfy shoes or something with a little bit more grip so, yeah, that was terrifying. That could have ended really, really poorly. Really poorly.”

In other news: Bianca Belair has opened up on her WWE journey.

Additionally, one AEW star addressed rumours that they have retired.
