Appearing on WWE After The Bell with Corey Graves, Adam Cole has revealed the name of his all-time dream opponent. Not only that, Cole also explained that he knows the perfect stipulation for the clash.
While Cole has wrestled all over the world, and in multiple different promotions, the former NXT Champion said that he’s still got one match on his bucket list.
The former North American Champion may have competed inside WarGames, but Cole says that he’d still love to tackle the unforgiving structure that is Hell In A Cell, before he hangs up his boots.
“Funny enough because it just happened, I really want to wrestle in a Hell in a Cell someday. Because I am an absolute maniac. I just think of all the iconic moments and matches. HBK and The Undertaker, Mankind and The Undertaker. there’s so many different examples of classic Hell in a Cell matches. When I think of that iconic moment where the music is playing and the cell is lowering, I just remember being so excited and it still makes me feel that way. I do hope my body will allow me to wrestle in a Hell in a Cell.”
Going one further, Cole also knows who would love to face inside the Devil’s Playground.
While his ultimate dream clash with Shawn Michaels is out of reach, Cole says that victory over his current rival Kyle O’Reilly inside Hell In A Cell would place him firmly back in the NXT Title picture.
“In a perfect world, past present future doesn’t matter, it would be Shawn Michaels. But if I’m picking current guys to face, I’m going to go Kyle O’Reilly. If I beat Kyle at Hell in a Cell then it’s over. I can go back to the NXT Championship and move on.”
It might not be inside Hell In A Cell, but Adam Cole is set to square off against Kyle O’Reilly one more time at The Great American Bash.
The latest bout between O’Reilly and Cole will look to put to bed the long-running feud between the pair. The Undisputed Era exploded at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day in February after Cole delivered a shocking superkick to O’Reilly. This led to the two men squaring off in an unsanctioned match at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.
While O’Reilly eventually pinned Cole after a brutal contest, the rivalry has continued to simmer.
