According to a new report Adam Cole is not expected to return to action for at least a few more weeks.
At AEW Double or Nothing Adam Cole defeated Samoa Joe to win the first-ever Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
In his way to the final Cole saw of Tomohiro Ishii, Dax Harwood and Jeff Hardy. However, despite his win, the star was missing from the June 1st episode of Dynamite despite being previously advertised. It was later announced that Cole was injured and was replaced in a huge ten-man tag team match by Hikuleo.
It has now been reported that Cole is set to remain on the injured list until AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 26.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez also revealed that Bryan Danielson will be back in action in one or two weeks.
At time of writing there has been no news on the exact nature of Cole’s injury.
The news caps off what has been a torrid week for injuries in the world of professional wrestling. On June 3rd, AEW World Champion CM Punk announced that he is set to undergo surgery, although he stopped short of vacating his championship. Instead an interim champion will be crowned at Forbidden Door.
Following the June 3rd episode of Rampage, Scorpio Sky revealed that he had strained a muscle in his right leg in the main event where he faced Dante Martin.
Away from AEW, the injury hex continued in WWE where Cody Rhodes will be out action for around six months. Ahead of Hell In A Cell it was announced that Rhodes had torn his right pectoral tendon completely off the bone. Despite the major injury, Rhodes unbelievably still took on Seth Rollins as scheduled, scoring the win.
