A new report has claimed that Adam Cole is still recovering from a “real bad concussion” with his future very much up in the air.
Adam Cole has been suffering with a concussion after a spot in his match at Forbidden Door went awry. While it was reported that he sustained a concussion during his match with Samoa Joe at Double or Nothing just weeks before.
In recent weeks updates on Cole have been few and far between, but a report has claimed that the concussion he suffered back in June is still an issue.
Speaking in Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Cole had sustained a “real bad concussion.” Looking ahead to a potential return, Meltzer added that he could get cleared to return tomorrow or it could never happen.
“I mean it’s a concussion, a bad concussion, real bad concussion but I have not heard. I don’t know if we’ll like – he’ll be back when he’s cleared, it could be tomorrow, it could be never, know what I mean?”
Adam Cole made his debut with AEW at All Out in September 2021 where he aligned with the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. As Omega took time out to recover from a number of injuries, Cole assumed control of The Elite and was quickly joined by Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish.
Cole went on to challenge for the AEW World Championship on two occasions, but was ultimately successful.
Kyle O’Reilly is also currently side-lined with a serious injury while Bobby Fish has left AEW altogether. The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega remain suspended.
