Adam Cole Crowned Winner Of Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament

Adam Cole entrance

Adam Cole has won the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament after defeating Samoa Joe via a helping hand from Bobby Fish.

Samoa Joe came into the match nursing a damaged shoulder after being attacked by Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh on a recent episode of Dynamite. Unsurprisingly, the weak-spot was the main target for Adam Cole.

However, Joe’s superior power always kept him in contention, and despite having his shoulder picked apart, he countered a Panama Sunrise, before fighting back further with a running cross-body.

At one stage, Joe attempted to set Cole up for the Muscle-buster, but the Undisputed Elite member fought out of it. With Cole looking in trouble, Bobby Fish ran to the ring and wrenched Joe’s arm over the ropes, but it wasn’t enough to fell the bigger man. Joe avoided the Boom, countering into a Rear-naked choke.

However, Fish distracted Joe again, causing him to break the hold. Although, Joe returned to flatted Cole with a huge chop heard around the world, Cole gained the upper hand, finally lowering the Boom to score the win.

On his march to victory in the tournament, Cole defeated Tomohiro Ishii, Dax Harwood and Jeff Hardy before meeting Joe in the final. Meanwhile, Joe saw off Max Cater, Johnny Elite and Cole’s stable-mate Kyle O’Reilly to earn his spot in the final.

Prior to Double or Nothing, Samoa Joe missed a fan-fest event after being double-booked. It was the same event that MJF now-showed.

Despite speculation to the contrary, MJF did appear for his scheduled match with Wardlow which opened the show. Although he may wish he hadn’t after being Powerbombed on ten occasions.
