Adam Cole Makes Shock AEW Debut At All Out

Adam Cole

After his WWE contract expired on August 27th, Adam Cole has wasted little time in finding a new wrestling home.

Adam Cole is All Elite.

After Kenny Omega and Christian Cage went to war over the AEW World Championship chaos descended on AEW. With Cage laid out, The Elite came to the ring, to dish out some more punishment. Despite a brief interruption from Jurassic Express, the celebrations continued with Omega in full flow.

At this Adam Cole stunned the crowd by walking to the ring. At first he looked as if he may help Jurassic Express, instead he delivered a superkick to Jungle Boy and re-joined The Elite.

However, the action wasn’t quite over yet, with Bryan Danielson also making his AEW debut. He quickly took out The Young Bucks as Omega made a hasty retreat.

The Adam Cole contract saga began back in early August when it emerged that his WWE contract had expired in July much to the surprise of the company. While WWE thought that his contract ran until December, they did realise their error in the days leading up to Cole’s deal coming to an end.

Cole and WWE then came to terms on a new short-term deal that would see him through SummerSlam weekend, which crucially included NXT TakeOver: 36. At the event, Cole was beaten by Kyle O’Reilly in the third and final bout of their series.

However, in the weeks leading up to the show, Cole met with Vince McMahon to discuss his future with the company. It was later reported that these talks went well and Cole was wanted by both SmackDown and RAW.

Despite this, no new contract was agreed, even though WWE believed that Cole would put pen to paper on a fresh deal. Cole’s short-term WWE agreement came to an end on August 27th, leaving the way clear for him to sign with AEW.

Cole, of course already has links to those within the company, due to a longstanding friendship with The Elite. In addition, Cole’s real-life partner Britt Baker is current AEW Women’s World Champion.
