Adam Cole Gives Update On Absent AEW Star

Adam Cole & Jeff Hardy

Adam Cole recently revealed that he’s moving towards an in-ring return and it appears that he’s not alone.

Kyle O’Reilly hasn’t wrestled since losing out to Jon Moxley on the June 8th episode of AEW Dynamite. Shortly after the match, the star took a break from the ring and underwent neck surgery in September. Worryingly, O’Reilly revealed that he was struggling with a “post-surgical issue” in January.

Adam Cole And Fellow Star Doing Well

During an appearance on Wrestling Observer Radio, Adam Cole offered an update on O’Reilly’s progress. The former NXT Champion stated that he speaks with O’Reilly every day and he’s doing “really well.”

“He’s doing good. Kyle’s doing really well. Again, he’s in a situation now where he’s working so hard to make sure that he gets healthy as soon as he possibly can but at the same time, making sure that he doesn’t rush back.

Kyle was really banged up and it got to a point where he kind of couldn’t take it anymore. I’m so glad that he got fixed and he got healthy and he’s recovering day by day.

Early on in the process, I think he was really discouraged because there was so little that he was able to do but now as time goes on and he’s starting to be able to do more and more in therapy, in rehab, and stuff like that, you see that excitement and the wheels turning of him already thinking about how he can’t wait to get back. He’s in good spirits and he’s got lots of people around him who love him a lot.”

Kyle O’Reilly has spent a vast portion of his career working alongside Adam Cole in Ring of Honor, WWE, and AEW. Cole has also been out of action since June, and there remains no timetable for an in-ring return for either man.

Speaking in the same interview, Cole said that he is feeling really good, but admitted that he’s got “a little ways to go” before he can wrestle a 35-45 minute match.
