Adam Cole Reveals His AEW Dream Match

Adam Cole

Adam Cole has been discussing the possibility of some high-profile bouts in AEW and names his absolute dream opponent.

Cole shocked the system at All Out when he debuted in AEW joining up once again with his former Bullet Club comrades The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega in The Elite.

Since then the former NXT Champion has remained undefeated in singles competition however he was part of The Elite team whose proton packs were not enough to ward off the spooky Dark Order.

Speaking on the #Dork podcast Adam Cole ran down some dream opponents he could face in AEW and began by saying an NXT rematch with Malakai Black could definitely be on the agenda:

“I love the idea of that. We’ve really only had one serious high-profile match within NXT and it was an Extreme Rules match that a lot of people really enjoyed, so to get the chance to go toe to toe with him again in AEW would be pretty cool.”

There is one star in AEW that for Adam Cole tops all others, and The Panama City Playboy says he is desperate to show what he can do against The Best In The World:

“That’s my dream match. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it a thousand times, if I had a personal, I am not saying this is the definitive Mount Rushmore, but if I had a personal Mount Rushmore as far as wrestlers who have influenced me, CM Punk is on that list.”

“He made me focus on promos, he introduced me to independent wrestling. I never in a million years thought I’d get the chance to maybe step into the ring with him, now the fact that’s a possibility, I’m going to be real sad if I don’t ever wrestle CM Punk.”

Another dream match was mooted to Cole but the man who turned his back on The Undisputed Era seems in no hurry to do the same to The Elite and challenge Kenny Omega:

“I know a lot of people have been wondering if that’s going to happen. Right now, I don’t see it as a possibility, but you never know. It’s pro wrestling, never say never.”
