Acting Or Wrestling? John Cena Reveals What He Loves More

WWE star and Hollywood actor John Cena

John Cena reveals whether he prefers acting or wrestling.

John Cena is one of the superstars who ventured into acting later in their professional wrestling career. Since his first non-WWE movie in 2015, he appeared in some of the biggest movie franchises like Transformers, Fast and Furious,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and joined DCEU as Peacemaker. Still, he wouldn’t trade the squared circle for the silver screen.

During the Fan Expo Dallas 2025, John was asked if he prefers acting or wrestling. The superstar turned the question back to the fan by asking him what he thinks Cena enjoys doing more. The young fan answered acting, since he gets hurt in wrestling.

The Last Real Champion jokingly replied that he still gets his feelings hurt in acting because of what people say about him. In a serious note, he didn’t hesitate to answer that he loved wrestling more, even if that would get him in trouble for movie roles.

“Acting they hurt your feelings a lot too though. I don’t know if you’ve seen some of my stuff. I read the reviews. They will they will hurt your feelings. Uh to be quite honest and this is not a knock. I don’t think this is going to lose me any movie jobs because I do give my all to every opportunity I have. Just like we’re here today I’m trying to answer all your questions. I love wrestling so much more. So much more.”

John Cena added that there’s a certain magic in an arena when they’re having a WWE broadcast.

“There’s no there’s no denying the magic in an arena for a live WWE broadcast. I love wrestling so much more and I’m fine saying that but if that knocks me out of the movie business I’ll be accountable for saying that.”

John Cena Is Set For Another Title Match This Weekend

Although the Undisputed Champion was all smiles recently and broke character a bit to interact with fans, it won’t be long until he returns to being the villain again.

On June 27 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, John Cena will put the Undisputed title against CM Punk at Night of Champions. Both men have a rich history, which was shown last week on SmackDown when the champion delivered his pipebomb promo, one that was reminiscent of The Best in the World’s words in 2011.
