Ace Steel Released By AEW

Ace Steel cuts a promo

The fallout from the post-All Out brawl continues with the news that Ace Steel has been released. Steel had been suspended by AEW following his role in the incident back in early September.

The report from Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that while many things are still going on in the background, the latest new information is that Steel has left the company.

“He was officially released yesterday. So I guess that is the first bit of news out of that whole situation in weeks. But yes, he was was released. There’s a lot of other stuff going on, but it’s just stuff going on, I mean there’s nothing else really to it. But he was released yesterday. “

Ace Steel Recently Hinted That ‘Freedom’ Was Coming

Following his victory in the main event of All Out CM punk embarked on a remarkable tirade at the post-show media scrum. With Tony Khan sat just feet away, Punk took aim at Colt Cabana, the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page.

These comments sparked a bawl backstage involving Punk, Ace Steel and The Elite. It is alleged that during the scuffle Steel threw a chair and bit Kenny Omega.

In the wake of the incident, all involved, even those not fighting, were suspended and the AEW World and Trios championships were declared vacant. A third party was brought in to launch an investigation, while more peripheral figures who had been suspended have now returned to work. CM Punk, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega remain absent from AEW television.

In a recent post on social media Ace Steel hinted that “freedom” was coming sharing a clip of 1980s smash hit film The Blues Brothers, which features Aretha Franklin singing her hit song Think. In the clip, the cast sing the word “freedom” repeatedly.
