Ace Steel has hinted that freedom could be on the way following a cryptic post on social media.
Following what had been a stunning victory in the main event of AEW All Out, CM Punk sat down in front of the assembled media to discuss his win, the event, and the current state of AEW.
However, it turned out that the new World Champion had other plans about how the press conference was going to go. Punk launched into a tirade regarding his alleged role in discontent backstage as a result of his former friendship with Colt Cabana, taking shots at the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega in the process. The star also delivered a scathing assessment of Hangman Adam Page before getting involved in a brawl backstage after leaving the press conference.
It is alleged that Punk threw punches at the Young Bucks and Omega, while his long-time friend Ace Steel launched a chair at the Bucks before biting Omega.
In the days after the incident everyone was involved was suspended, although many of the more peripheral figures have since returned to work. Despite this, CM Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks remain absent.
In a post on social media, Steel has dropped a potential hint regarding his future. On his Twitter account that is set to private, Steel share a clip of 1980s smash hit film The Blues Brothers, which features Aretha Franklin singing her hit song Think. In the clip, the cast sing the word “freedom” repeatedly.
