Ace Austin has defeated TJP to become the new IMPACT X Division Champion at Sacrifice, beginning his second reign with the title!
The 24 year-old sensation, with Madman Fulton in his corner, defeated TJP with The Fold. TJP had held the title since Final Resolution, with his reign lasting 92 days. Though initially winning the title as Manik, he unmasked during the reign and worked as TJP instead.
Despite his youth, Austin has been a stalwart in the X Division for around two years now. His first reign as X Division Champion, beginning back at Bound For Glory 2019, lasted for over 170 days. Though he eventually lost the title to Willie Mack at Rebellion in 2020, Austin continued the hunt for titles. Though he challenged multiple times for the IMPACT World Championship, he was never successful in capturing it.
Fellow X Division star Chris Bey has seemingly expressed interest in staking his claim to the championship already. Austin will also likely have TJP seeking a rematch, as well as a potential challenge from former champion Rohit Raju. With the ‘Forbidden Door’ open, however, perhaps even bigger threats are posed by those outside of IMPACT.
With Kenny Omega set to challenge for the unified IMPACT World Championship, fans may wonder if the brand warfare will spread to other divisions. Could Ace Austin wager his X Division Championship against Darby Allin’s TNT Championship? Both young stars with a fondness for skateboarding, it may just be a matter of time before the wheels start turning in the minds.
Sacrifice is available to buy on Fite.tv for fans here. The Rebellion pay-per-view will also be available on Fite.tv, where fans can see AEW World Champion Kenny Omega potentially claim another championship!
