Ace Austin Claims Super X Cup 2021

Ace Austin Claims The Super X Cup

Ace Austin has claimed the IMPACT Super X Cup 2021 trophy, joining previous winners Chris Sabin, Samoa Joe, and Dezmond Xavier as holders of the honour.

Taking place over the course of the IMPACT Plus special Genesis, this year’s edition of the tournament comes after laying fallow since 2017.

The tournament took the form of a one night, 8 person, single elimination bracket. Filling out the line up were IMPACT regulars; Cousin Jake, Crazzy Steve, Suicide and Daivari, as well as independent stars; Blake Christian, KC Navarro, and Tre Lamar.

En route to the final, Austin went through Suicide, Cousin Jake and finally, Blake Christian, to lift the trophy.

Ace appeared to acknowledge his making history in joining previous X Cup winners in the record books:

Austin is already a prominent fixture of the IMPACT roster, having previously held X Division gold as well as challenging for the IMPACT World Title.

Blake Christian, perhaps surprisingly, picked up a win over IMPACT star Crazzy Steve to make his way to the finals.

Christian has form for competing in a tournament of this style, having featured in New Japan’s Super J Cup in December of last year, where he made it to the semi finals.

The card also featured Jazz taking on Jordynne Grace and an I Quit Match between Moose & Willie Mack.

IMPACT returns to pay-per-view on Saturday, January 16th with Hard to Kill.
