Ace Austin Calls Not Winning World Title “Biggest Career Failure” [Exclusive]

By Gary Cassidy. Published 9th February 2021.

Ace Austin has called not winning the IMPACT World Championship his “biggest career failure so far” following his Super-X Cup win.

The former X-Division Champion opened up in an interview with Inside The Ropes‘ Lead Writer Gary Cassidy about how he remains confident a title win will come, though.

“You’ve got to take the good with the bad. I have to say that, it feels like my biggest career failure so far, almost – but “The Inevitable” was born out of that. The confidence that I have in my ability is where that “inevitable” phrase comes from, because I have zero doubt in my mind that, that might not have been the day, but it’s never over. I’m not a quitter, so I’ve still got time and I’m confident that I’m going to make that happen.”

Austin would discuss how he would love to face Rich Swann, before noting the 24 years and 170 days mark that would see the cut-off of making history as the youngest World Champion, with Tessa Blanchard currently holding the record.

“I’m going to be the youngest World Champion. I’m going to be the youngest World Champion in the history of IMPACT Wrestling.”
