On July 1st WWE is heading to the UK for Money In The Bank. Its marks the second time the company has held a Premier Live Event in the country in as many years.
On September 3rd of last year, the promotion held its first major event in the UK in over 30 years when Clash At The Castle went down in Cardiff, Wales. The successful event saw 62’000 fans in attendance to watch Drew McIntyre challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship in the main event.
Now, as the company gears up to return to the country, it is being speculated that it could feature the return of one WWE Superstar who has been missing from television for several months for unknown reasons.
Drew McIntyre Hasn’t Been On WWE Programming Since WrestleMania 39
At Night 2 of WrestleMania 39, McIntyre, alongside Gunther and Sheamus, competed in the critically acclaimed Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship. The big Scot was unsuccessful in the hard-hitting battle and hasn’t been seen since.
His absence has been the cause of much conjecture surrounding his future in the company. Multiple reports have surfaced about his hiatus, mentioning the likes of injury, clashes over creative and stalled contract talks as the reason for him not being around.
Despite being away from the action, McIntyre did make a recent appearance at the Special Olympics as the company’s Global Ambassador.
However, a new report from PW Insider Elite has revealed updated news on his potential return. The site is saying that sources with the company are indicating the upcoming UK tour and the MITB PLE will see McIntyre back “in the mix”.
