On the November 11th edition of Friday Night SmackDown the Viking Raiders returned to the blue brand for the first time since September. However, the pair didn’t come alone as they were joined by Sarah Logan.
The trio interrupted a proposed match between B-Fab and Zelina Vega before it even had chance to start. The Viking Raiders and the new companion announced that “Valhalla is here” before demolishing Hit Row.
Another Absentee Present At Recent WWE SmackDown Taping
Interestingly, another WWE star could soon be back in action after it was reported that they were in attendance for the show. The report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted that Bobby Roode was backstage for the first time in a “long time.” According to the report, the former NXT Champion had been in Birmingham, Alabama earlier in the week after undergoing a medical procedure in the same city six weeks ago.
Bobby Roode hasn’t wrestled since appearing at a live event in Amarillo, Texas back on June 25th. On that occasion he lost to Omos. Roode has only appeared in 12 televised matches in 2022 as his long-time partnership with Dolph Ziggler appeared to fizzle out. With his tag team partner out of action Dolph Ziggler returned to singles competition, although he hasn’t competed on Monday Night Raw since October 17th. This in turn was his first match on television since August 29th.
The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion signed with WWE in 2016 and immediately joined NXT. Over the next six years, across his time in the black and gold brand and the main roster, Roode has become a three-time Tag Team Champion, 24/7 Champion, United States Champion and NXT Champion.
Elsewhere on SmackDown The Usos defeated the New Day to retain the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. With the victory the pair ensured that they will become the longest-reigning champions in WWE history, somewhat ironically passing the New Day.
