Absent AEW Star Provides Injury Update

New update on an absent AEW star’s injury.

For more than the past five months, a top AEW star has been sidelined because of an injury. Last wrestled on the July 20 episode of AEW Collision, Skye Blue has not yet completely recovered from her injury.

During her match against Hikaru Shida, Blue suffered an injury and compelled the bout to be stopped early. She has since then undergone surgery and is currently on her recovery path. During her recent appearance with Chicago Wolves color analyst Billy Gardner at the Chicago Wolves game on November 16, Blue shared an update on her injury status.

We’re getting there. We’re getting there. It’s hard sitting at home and watching [Kyle Fletcher] go to work and being like, ‘I feel fine, I can walk. I can wrestle, right?’ Then I’m like, ‘Oh, no, I can’t.’ But we’re getting there. I just want to come back fully healthy so I can go crazy and do all my hardcore matches and be 100%,”

Currently, there are no return plans for Blue’s return, although Fightful Select recently shared a report about Skye Blue’s return timeline.

Skye Blue Wants To Face AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone

During an interview with Fightful’s Iridian Fierro for WGN Radio, Skye Blue opened up on growing up as a fan of Mercedes Mone and hoped to get inside the ring with her one day.

I had no idea I was wrestling Mercedes and like, 17-year-old me in math class watching her matches — like I watched her matches, Toni Storm, Ruby Soho, I never imagined that I’d be wrestling these women and I’m so beyond grateful to do it.

I think the biggest thing I kind of took away is she is one of the best women’s wrestlers, and I kept up and I held my own because I was beyond anxious I never imagined this match happening and to have it and to have it be the big match that it was, it was for the title and there was all this pressure to live up to it. I was honestly mind-blown that I got to do it. I feel like it was just baby steps to getting to being one of the best.”
