Despite his long-running absence, this AEW star is now a World Champion.
Last seen wrestling in All Elite Wrestling back on the 30th March episode of Collision, Ricky Starks and Big Bill lost their World Tag Team Title Tournament Quarter-Final match to Top Flight. Although he has actively wrestled since then, Starks has yet to feature back in Tony Khan’s promotion.
Continuing his absence on the Jacksonville-based promotion, Starks has now won the DEFY World Championship. Recently, appearing on the DEFY Hundredth – 8 Year Anniversary show, Ricky Starks defeated Kenta to become the new World Champion.
Concluding Kenta’s historic 615-day reign, Starks shocked the crowd in Seattle, Washington. However, Starks was not the only AEW star present at the show.
Heated AEW Rivalry Continues Into DEFY
Top All Elite Wrestling stars Ricochet and Swerve Strickland are currently engaged in one of the most heated rivalries in the promotion. With the former WWE Intercontinental Champion securing a win over Strickland this past week, their feud has now crossed a new boundary.
Making a surprise appearance on DEFY Hundredth, Ricochet shocked the crowd as he entered to Swerve Strickland’s music and wearing Prince Nana’s robe. However, not long after, Strickland made his presence felt and started a brawl.
In other news: Original plans for a recently released WWE star are now reportedly out.
