Absent AEW Star Explains Support For Naomi In Fitting Reply To Troll

Naomi WWE

Following Naomi’s recent title win, an absent AEW star has expressed her support.

Absent from All Elite Wrestling television for nearly five months now, Deonna Purrazzo can be regularly spotted wrestling at ROH while maintaining her hiatus from All Elite Wrestling. Recently, at the Evolution 2 PLE, Purrazzo’s close friend Naomi successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase to defeat Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley, and crown herself the new Women’s Champion.

Soon after, via a post on X(Twitter), Deonna Purrazzo broke the inter-promotional barrier and expressed her support for the new champion. With a series of emojis, ‘The Virtuosa’ expressed her joy over Naomi’s new championship.

Later, when a fan responded to that by calling out Purrazzo and her glee as ‘FOMO’, the 31-year-old decided to speak up and defend her support for Naomi. In another post on X(Twitter), she wrote,

“I understand how being happy for your friends successes could be a hard concept for you…”

While a SmackDown star, Naomi is expected to move to SmackDown following her championship win in Atlanta on July 13th.

Deonna Purrazzo Explains Irregular AEW Appearances

Despite regularly appearing on the Ring of Honor shows, Purrazzo’s appearances in the Jacksonville-based promotion have remained extremely rare. Earlier this year, during an interview with MuscleManMalcolm recorded at PWJ Damaged Goods on January 26, Purrazzo was asked about her absence from Dynamite. Explaining her absence, Deonna Purrazzo said,

“You know what? There’s ebbs and flows to all of this. There’s been lots and lots of chatter. I am a workhorse. I just started my 13th year of professional wrestling. I have never stopped wrestling. I have never stopped loving this. Again, you have to want more for yourself. I do want more for myself. I want to be on Dynamite, but there’s ebbs and flows. We’ve talked about our stacked division and who’s on top right now, and it’s just gonna be a waiting game. Don’t count me out of the fight, guys.”
