The sad reality of WWE Hall Of Famer Abdullah The Butcher’s financial situation has been revealed as he goes through a divorce.
Wrestling legend Abdullah The Butcher had quite a career in the squared circle, making a name for himself in both the United States and Japan with his grizzly, hardcore style. His exploits as a wrestler saw him inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2011 but his life has not been without controversy.
In 2014 a Canadian court ruled that Abdullah The Butcher had infected Devon Nicholson with Hepatitis C during a match in 2007. As a result, Nicholson was awarded $2.3 million in damages.
“His wife is divorcing him, so he has two cases. We found out later, now listen, this man has carved out a career. I don’t understand how he did it with his educational level. But the wife has taken his property. She’s forged his name, stating that he gave his property to her as a gift. Ab did not even know that he didn’t own most of his properties.”
“They just don’t know this. He is living from day to day, he’s on a fixed income. He doesn’t have any money in the bank, his wife owns all of his properties. Except for this house that he lives in right now, which is in both of their names. His wife came here from Japan, she didn’t have anything. All of these properties he owns is from the career he built. And he has nothing but this house which is in both of their names. He doesn’t even have a car.”
She also confirmed that there is a Go Fund Me set up for fans who wish to donate to help the 81-year-old Abdullah The Butcher through his current situation.
