A Celebration of ChocoPro – ChocoPro #100 Day 1 Results

Asia Dream Tag Title Match at ChocoPro #100 Night 1 Graphic

ChocoPro #100 Day 1 was not only an anniversary celebration for the birth of the Emi Sakura brainchild that is ChocoPro, but a chance for fans to celebrate its stars and creator.

The walls of ChcoPro’s Ichigaya Chocolate Square were covered in well-wishes and congratulations from fans from all over the world, thanking ChocoPro for the entertainment it has provided during what has been a very challenging year for most. The already novel venue was enhanced tenfold by all the signs, as well as bouquets of flowers sent by fans also.

We were welcomed to the show by the leader of the Pencil Army, Lulu Pencil, and their newest recruit Chris Brookes. Adding to the sense of specialness, the ChocoPro banner, that had been through the wars during previous shows, had been upgraded.

A new banner, printed specially for the event, had the world map and ChocoPro logo on it, allowing for each country to be pointed out during the traditional viewership roll call at the top of the show.

Onto the action.

Opening the show was the Asia Dream Tag Title contest. The champions, the team of Best Bros, Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga on the 86th day of their reign faced off against the Pencil Army contingent of Emi Sakura & Minoru Fujita. Emi was one half of the former champions and Mei has of late taken issue with the Pencil Army, so this was a heated affair. The champs were able to successfully defend their titles for the third time. Best Bros picked up the win with a version of one of their speciality moves, an assisted standing shooting star press, sometimes known as The Dolphin Splash.

In the main event the other half of the former Asia Dream Tag Champions, Kaori Yoneyama, was looking to defend her PURE-J Open Class Championship against Yuna Mizumori. After a hard-fought back and forth contest, the champ eventually retained after catching Mizumori with a rollup.
