5-Month-Old WWE Clip Of Andrade Resurfaces After Release, And It’s Quite Telling

Andrade El Idolo WWE Exit 2025 AEW

Andrade is no longer part of the WWE roster. This was the former United States Champion’s second departure from the sports entertainment capital.

In 2024, Andrade El Idolo returned to WWE after a noteworthy run in Tony Khan’s Jacksonville-based wrestling promotion, AEW.

His comeback happened during the Men’s Royal Rumble, and he made a splashing WrestleMania (main card) debut last year, tagging alongside WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio to defeat the latter’s son and Santos Escobar in a Tag Team match.

Despite a promising angle in such a short time after his WWE return, any potential Andrade had went out of the window shortly thereafter. He was barely used on television in prominent storylines.

Andrade Was Allegedly “Miserable” After Major WWE Merger In April 2025

One year after WrestleMania XL, Andrade was seen at WWE’s announcement about acquiring AAA. In the past few weeks, both companies have been doing exceptionally well, mutually benefitting from their association.

Dominik Mysterio defeated El Hijo del Vikingo at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide two days ago at the Cox Pavilion at the Thomas & Mack Center in the Las Vegas suburb of Paradise, Nevada, to become the AAA Mega Champion.

This was a big deal not only for WWE and AAA, but also for the Mysterio family, as not even the more established Hall of Famer, Rey Mysterio, had ever won the Mexican promotion’s title before, despite his 4-year run.

Aside from ‘Dirty’ Dom, many stars from WWE’s flagship shows and developmental were featured on the card. But not Andrade.

An old video clip from the acquisition announcement event in April 2025 has been making rounds on social media, in which Andrade is seen, seemingly frustrated at his lack of involvement. AAA is right up El Idolo’s alley, but WWE has not booked him in any storylines or matches since it acquired the Mexican promotion.

Be that as it may, Andrade did find considerable success on SmackDown in recent months as fans were growing to like his tag team run with Rey Fenix. Many felt they were earmarked for a title reign in the division. Unfortunately, WWE appears to have let El Idolo go.
