WWE officially announced on the day of the show that Naomi would not compete due to medical reasons, leading to the immediate cancellation of the title defense against IYO SKY. #4. A No.1 Contender Match Is Announced
WWE could set up a triple threat or fatal four-way match to win the Women’s World Championship at Clash in Paris. It could be a fatal four-way between Ripley, SKY, Vaquer, and a surprise contender like Bayley, who recently talked about not winning a championship for too long. This would follow the footsteps of Men’s fatal four-way for the World title to make the match card even more interesting for Clash in Paris.
Alternatively, a Battle Royal with the championship on line, similar to the 20-women Battle Royal that Vaquer won at Evolution, could be featured.
#3. Naomi Is Replaced By Other Top Names in WWE’s Women’s Division
Instead of vacating the title, WWE might keep the championship on Naomi and insert a new challenger for Vaquer. Ripley and SKY are prime candidates given their recent title reigns and main event status or Bianca Belair or Asuka, who have proven their prowess inside the ring. SKY could approach General Manager Adam Pearce about losing her title opportunity on August 11, making her the perfect candidate to take on Stephanie Vaquer.
#2. Postpone the Match to the Next WWE Premium Live Event
If Naomi is still not cleared to compete at Clash in Paris, WWE could consider pushing it to the next Premium Live Event. Based on their current schedule, Crown Jewel is slated for October 11. Moving the match would preserve its original booking, while letting Naomi recover fully. This also avoids reshaping the title scene under rushed conditions by introducing new contenders.
