On the April 28th episode of SmackDown WWE held the first night of the 2023 Draft.
Unsurprisingly, Roman Reigns was the first pick overall and he will now remain on SmackDown alongside Paul Heyman, Solo Sikoa, and the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. This means that WWE’s new World Heavyweight Title will be exclusive to Monday Night Raw.
There were also call-ups to the main roster for NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre.
However, come the end of the night a number of eligible Superstars were left undrafted and it was confirmed that a supplemental
draft would be held on the SmackDown LowDown.
The results of the second part of the draft are now in, and NXT stars Zoey Stark and JD McDonagh will be moving to Raw. Meanwhile, Natalya also jumps to the red brand and Hit Row stays on SmackDown.
Interestingly, Omos, Dolph Ziggler, Mustafa Ali, and Von Wagner remain free agents. It is unclear whether they will now be eligible for the second night of the draft on May 1st.
