20-Year-Old Champion Is Waiting For AJ Styles, Dream Match Inevitable

AJ Styles WWE Leon Slater One More Match TNA Slammiversary 2025

AJ Styles probably only has a few more matches left in his legendary wrestling career, even though he still moves at a brisk pace between the ropes.

Styles is currently featured on WWE RAW and is booked for SummerSlam next month in a match against Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio for the belt. He also made an appearance at TNA Slammiversary recently, putting over new X-Division Champion Leon Slater, and teasing one more match at the first major promotion that allowed him to succeed.

Leon Slater Hopes He Gets To Wrestle AJ Styles In TNA

On MuscleManMalcolm, the host asked Slater if he wishes to be AJ Styles’ opponent if The Phenomenal One wrestles only one more match in TNA. The X-Division Champion responded with resounding yes. He pointed out that Styles was the first holder of the X-Division belt, while he is the youngest to ever win it. That is a story in and of itself.

Continuing to express his desire to wrestle The Phenomenal One, Slater took to X and shared a snap of him and Styles sharing a moment backstage. This was in response to the aforementioned podcast’s clip.

“WAITING PATIENTLY,” wrote Slater.

AJ Styles and Mysterio, meanwhile, on WWE RAW, have been in a program for some time now. However, the second-generation star kept dodging the two-time WWE Champion’s challenge. In his defense, he was not medically cleared. All of that changed as their match, which was previously announced for Night of Champions, was made official for The Biggest Party of the Summer.

The last time Styles held a title was in August 2021, when he and Omos lost the RAW Tag Team Championship to RK-Bro at SummerSlam. Could The Phenomenal One dethrone Mysterio this year?
