11-Time WWE Champion Hints At Retirement

WWE will crown a new champion

An 11-time WWE World Champion has teased retirement in his latest post on social media.

Hall of Famer Edge, who is currently with AEW, recently celebrated 33 years in professional wrestling. The star signed with AEW in 2023 after returning from retirement in 2020. Edge, who now goes by the name of Cope in AEW, first retired in 2011 before returning to WWE in 2020. Since then, he has been active in the ring, but it seems that he may be calling it a day soon.

The star was last seen in AEW on April 6, when he was betrayed by his former partners FTR. Now, the four-time WWE Champion and seven-time world champion has teased his retirement.

WWE legend Edge says his career won’t last much longer

While celebrating his 33rd year in professional wrestling, Cope, 51, took to Instagram to send a heartfelt message to fans. He stated that it had been a long and soul-expanding journey, while also being soul-diminishing. The WWE Hall of Famer stated that he was privileged to have been doing this for more than three decades before adding that his time as a performer “won’t last a lot longer.”

“On Canada Day 33 yrs ago I made my wrestling debut. In Oakland Raiders Zubaz and a pair of Converse. Nowhere to go but up. Since then, I’ve travelled the world. Literally. Everywhere you can think of. From Moose Landing to Monterrey, from Bloodvein to Bucharest. It’s been a long, fruitful, soul expanding, soul diminishing, amazing, frustrating, exhausting, exhilarating journey over 3 decades. The best part? I hear every one of you when I blast out of that entranceway and sing Metalingus at the top of your lungs. It’s never been lost on me what a privilege that is. Australia I’m lookin at you! It won’t last a lot longer so I’m gonna soak in every second. Thank you for coming along on this ride with me.”
