Seth Rollins has built a powerful WWE faction, but it won’t stop him from building an alliance that will make it more menacing.
Disclaimer: This is a fictionalized scenario, not based on any reports.
While Seth Rollins has two monsters and an evil genius behind him, he needs some established muscle, someone who inspires Bron and Reed, someone who is as powerful as he is deranged. Someone who is well…. a psychopath.
Imagine this, it’s RAW after Night of Champions, we see Gunther appear and rant about the fact that he has no challenge, he has beaten the life out of all contenders to his throne, he is so dominating that WWE couldn’t even book a match for him in Saudi Arabia.
He says, “Well, since there is no one left, I might as well be the Best In The World.” Cue Cult of Personality. A beaten-up CM Punk comes out and destroys The Ring General on the mic and sets up a challenge for SummerSlam. Backstage, we see Seth looking at all of this menacingly.
At SummerSlam, as Gunther beats down the Second City Saint who refuses to give up, Seth sends Bron and Bronson to make sure Punk does not win, causing the referee to be distracted. What do we see next?
Spear! It’s Goldberg, who is out to take it out on Gunther, just like he did to Lesnar 21 years ago, setting up their match down the line. Punk is in disbelief but lifts Gunther and hits the GTS, picking up the win. Sami Zayn and Jey Uso join him to celebrate. Seth has a crash out backstage, but he knows the time isn’t right.
As promised by Punk, he gives the first crack to Sami Zayn, though they are friends, they don’t hold back, and Punk is almost down and out. While Sami is just about to hit his Helluva kick, we hear Seth’s music. But he is alone, no Bron, no Bronson, he just stands at the ramp and laughs like a maniac, which is when we see someone sliding into the ring and bam!
The Newest Member Of The WWE Faction Arrives
It’s a Claymore, yes, it is Drew McIntyre! Bron and Bronson make a run in and help him destroy Sami, while Seth stops the referee from throwing the match out.
In fact, he gives him the briefcase, yes, the heist of the century happens again. With his opponents destroyed, Seth just curb-stomps them and pins Punk to win! The night ends with all 5 members of the faction raising their hands together in victory.
Everyone is shell-shocked, and the internet is ablaze. Some call it a stroke of genius, some are outraged, but the fact is that Seth Rollins is now the WWE Heavyweight Champion, and he is laughing at everyone because he doesn’t just have a faction, he has a Dangerous Alliance.
Why Drew McIntyre Makes Sense
Fans will remember Drew beat The Architect at WrestleMania and though he got his flowers from the former champ, ended up getting screwed by Punk.
So next Raw, Seth reveals that he had Heyman reach out to McIntyre to explain that though he might not get the top prize now, joining the faction will give Drew something they all want – CM Punk out of the WWE.
While Seth’s Dangerous Alliance has two monsters, they need a psychopath to help them fend off all challengers. Drew is least intimidated by anyone, is ready to go to extremes, and sometimes hates Punk more than Seth. The alliance will more than help him with his purpose and even back him up when needed.
Also, Seth says the future of the WWE goes through him, and who else to help him on this quest than the man who was once ‘The Chosen One.’ He knows what it is like to be there and have broken dreams (pun intended) when it all comes crashing down, and Drew wants to ensure that none of his foes are the face of the organization. Think of him as the Goro to Seth’s Shao Kahn.
Possible storylines: The first thing we could get is Drew entering the picture for the U.S. Title as he has had run-ins with both Fatu and Priest.
Damian Priest is the one who took him out of action, so he, with the help of his faction mates, can ensure that he takes away something that matters to The Archer of Infamy.
Another one is that the group attacks a weakened Judgement Day, leading to Dom being in the crossfire and a victim of a Claymore. Two of the biggest titles would now be with the new Dangerous Alliance.
This is our POV of how we would book this, though we must have some honorable mentions.
Becky Lynch: The most obvious choice, the wife of The Architect, the WWE Women’s Intercontinental champ, who can help the faction dominate two divisions and be the ultimate Power Couple.
Austin Theory: Looking at a split from Grayson Waller, Theory, like the rest of Seth’s faction, is the future of the WWE and wants to make a name for himself.
