The WWE Hall of Fame has been in existence since March 1993. The inaugural inductee was Andre ‘The Giant’ who had passed away that January.
The WWE Hall of Fame was established to celebrate the company’s then three decade history.
Fast forward 29 years and the WWE Hall of Fame has expanded to recognise all significant players in wrestling history, even those who never worked for the company. 228 wrestlers and personalities have been enshrined into the hallowed hall as of the 2021 ceremony. The 2022 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is once more set to take place over WrestleMania weekend.
One look at WWE’s current roster of superstars suggests that the WWE Hall of Fame will be around for many, many years to come.
This feature looks at everyone currently on WWE’s payroll, who will likely receive a WWE Hall of Fame ring in future.
The New Day
The New Day debuted as a stable way back in the summer of 2014. In the intervening eight years, the trio has racked up an impressive 11 Tag Team Championship reigns. Most notable was their record 483 day reign, that stretched all the way from August 23, 2015 to December 18, 2016.
Individually, The New Day have also achieved considerable success. Kofi Kingston and Big E have both held the WWE Championship and Intercontinental Title, whilst Xavier Woods claimed the 2021 King of the Ring tournament.
Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods may well receive solo inductions into the WWE Hall of Fame one day, but they will undoubtedly earn their first induction as a group, as one of the greatest Tag Team stables in wrestling history.
The Usos
The Usos have been part of WWE since 2010 and in the past 12 years have captured seven Tag Team Championships.
The twin sons of Rikishi, Jimmy and Jey have contested innumerable classic feuds opposite the likes of The New Day and The Bar. Since 2020, the pair have been part of a stable called The Bloodline with their cousin, Roman Reigns and one of the highlights of SmackDown.
Their tenure, title success and high profile on television means their future WWE Hall of Fame induction is assured.
Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman has done it all in wrestling. Having paid his dues as a photographer, Heyman as Paul E Dangerously managed such acts as The Midnight Express and most famously The Dangerous Alliance, which was WCW’s premier heel stable between 1991 and 1992.
The following year, Paul Heyman joined ECW and soon became the owner and head booker of the promotion. His incredible creative invention turned the small regional territory into a national promotion and the inspiration for the WWF’s Attitude Era.
In early 2001, ECW folded and Heyman began working for the WWF as a colour commentator. Partnering, Jim Ross, the pair tore up the airwaves as their legitimate heat spiced up WWF commentary.
Later in the decade, Heyman managed superstars such as Brock Lesnar, CM Punk and Roman Reigns and has played a major role in some of the company’s biggest storylines over the past 20 years.
Few are more deserving of a WWE Hall of Fame berth than Heyman
MVP

Currently enjoying a career resurgence as the manager of Bobby Lashley, many of the WWE Universe may be unaware that MVP had an impressive run in WWE as a wrestler between 2006 and 2010.
MVP was the subject of a bidding war between Raw and SmackDown during the summer of 2006, before opting for the blue brand. SmackDown got their money’s worth as MVP won the United States Championship twice, Tag Team Championship once and competed in memorable feuds with the likes of Matt Hardy and Kane.
After a successful stint in Japan, wherein he became New Japan’s inaugural Intercontinental Champion, MVP resurfaced in TNA and MLW in the latter half of the 2010s before re-joining WWE full time in 2020.
MVP has done it all with the exception of winning a World Title. His Hall of Fame credentials are unquestionable. He will likely receive the nod in the next five years.
R-Truth

R-Truth may be a comedy wrestler in 2022 as the perennial 24/7 Champion, but he was once a serious high card act.
After a forgettable spell as K-Kwik between 2000 and 2001, he made his mark in NWA:TNA, winning the NWA World Heavyweight Title twice between 2002 and 2004. He returned to WWE in 2008, this time using the R-Truth moniker.
He won the United States Title on two occasions and also held Tag Team gold with Kofi Kingston. In 2011, he formed the tag team, Awesome Truth with The Miz and competed in main event feuds with the likes of CM Punk, Triple H, John Cena and The Rock.
Slipping down the card in the latter half of the 2010s, R-Truth, due to his impressive comic timing, enjoys a high profile as a largely non-wrestling personality. Despite his advancing age (he turned 50 in January), his onscreen presence in WWE seems assured for many years yet. After over a decade in WWE, with countless memorable matches and moments in the bank, a future WWE Hall of Fame induction is assured.
Bayley
Lifelong WWE fan, Bayley finally achieved her dream when she signed with the company in late 2012. After a sterling run in NXT, highlighted by her phenomenal NXT Title winning effort versus Sasha Banks at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn on August 22, 2015.
Bayley made the jump to the main roster the following year and soon won the Raw Women’s Championship on the February 13, Raw from Charlotte Flair. Several weeks later she successfully defended the gold opposite Flair at Fastlane, inflicting ‘The Queen’s’ first ever pay-per-view defeat in the process.
Bayley alongside Banks were the first ever Women’s Tag Team Champions in WWE history when they captured the belts inside the Elimination Chamber on February 17, 2019.
An overdue heel turn in September that year, injected new life into Bayley’s character and she enjoyed the best run of her career, holding the SmackDown Women’s Title for a record 379 days and enjoyed a second run with the Tag Team Championship alongside Banks, making her ‘Bayley Dos Straps.’
After a memorable feud with Bianca Belair in the spring and early summer of 2021, Bayley was sidelined with a torn ACL. However, even if she never returns, her career is already Hall of Fame worthy.
Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss made her main roster debut in the summer of 2016. In her five and a half years in WWE, Bliss has captured five Women’s Titles (three Raw and two SmackDown Championships) and the Tag Team Titles twice with Nikki Cross.
After four years playing her Harley Quinn inspired character, Bliss’s persona underwent a startling transformation when she aligned herself with Bray Wyatt and his alter ego, The Fiend.
Seemingly able to possess opponents and holding other supernatural powers, Bliss became a huge part of Wyatt’s act and a fixture of WWE television.
After playing two unforgettable characters and collecting an array of championship gold, Bliss’s place in the WWE Hall of Fame looks is already assured.
Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks is a former six time Women’s Champion, having held the Raw Women’s Title five times and the SmackDown Women’s Title once. Partnering Bayley, she also was one half of the first ever Women’s Tag Team Champions.
‘The Boss’ competed in the first ever all female Ironman and Hell in a Cell matches. She also headlined WrestleMania 37 with Bianca Belair. That marked the first time that two black competitors had main evented the ‘Showcase of the Immortals’.
Banks has competed in gripping feuds and sterling matches with Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, Belair and others over the past decade.
At 30 years of age, Banks already has an impressive body of work behind her. Her career is already Hall of Fame worthy. By the time she hangs up the tights, she likely will have earned her own wing.
Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre was WWE’s ‘Chosen One‘ when he re-debuted on WWE television in August 2009, after a brief stint on the main roster in late 2007.
Positioned as one of the leading heels on SmackDown, McIntyre captured the Intercontinental Title and held the strap for six months. From there, McIntyre’s push stalled and he slid down the card and was eventually released from the company in 2014.
After rebuilding his career back home in Scotland in ICW and various independents, McIntyre resurfaced in TNA and enjoyed a reign as TNA World Champion when he dethroned Matt Hardy for the belt.
In 2017, McIntyre returned to WWE and after a upper mid-card run as a heel, turned face and won the 2020 Royal Rumble. McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36 and traded the strap with Randy Orton during the fall.
An intense and versatile performer, ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ is a dead cert for the WWE Hall of Fame in future.
Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley arrived on the scene in WWE in late 2005 and quickly made a name for himself. He captured the ECW Championship in the dreadful top liner of the calamitous December To Dismember pay-per-view in December 2006.
His profile was enhanced when he was hand picked by Donald Trump to represent him in the Battle of the Billionaires contest opposite Umaga, seconded by WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon.
Lashley won that match and dropped and regained the ECW Title as his feud with McMahon and Umaga continued post-WrestleMania. After a falling out with management, Lashley left WWE in 2008, before he joined TNA in 2009 for a brief run.
After turning his attention to a successful MMA career in the first half of the 2010s, Lashley returned to TNA in 2014 and won the TNA World crown on four occasions.
‘The Almighty’ returned to WWE in 2018 and quickly made an impact. He was made the centrepiece of elite stable, The Hurt Business and reigned as Intercontinental Champion twice in 2019 before finally claiming the WWE World Title, when he defeated The Miz on March 1, 2021. After his lengthy reign was ended by Big E, Lashley regained the gold at Royal Rumble 2022, turning back the challenge of Brock Lesnar.
When the 45-year-old finally hangs up the boots, a WWE Hall of Fame berth is assured.
AJ Styles
AJ Styles worked hard to earn his spot in the big time. He joined WCW shortly before the company closed it’s doors in early 2001. The WWF was not interested in picking up the star, believing him to be too small and slender for what was still in the early 2000s, the land of the giants.
Styles would make a name for himself as a major part of the NWA: TNA roster, capturing the NWA World and TNA World Titles. However, it was his sterling, innovative and dangerous battles in the X-Division opposite the likes of Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe, which really put ‘The Phenomenal One’ on the map.
When his TNA run finally came to an end in 2014, Styles joined New Japan and became the leader of the company’s premier stable, The Bullet Club. Styles reigned as IWGP World Champion and contested blistering battles with the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura and Kazuchika Okada.
In January 2016, Style shocked the world when he debuted in WWE as an entrant in the 2016 Royal Rumble match. Atypically, Styles joined the main roster immediately, when most of his compatriots including Samoa Joe and Nakamura initially plied their trade in NXT.
‘The Phenomenal One’ has won two WWE Championships, one Intercontinental Title, three United States Titles and one Tag Team Title in his six year tenure in the company. He also headlined night one of WrestleMania 36 in the unforgettable Boneyard Match opposite The Undertaker, which would be ‘The Phenom’s’ curtain call as a wrestler.
No one is more deserving of a WWE Hall of Fame spot than Styles.
Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn made his name as El Generico in Ring of Honor and rekindled hostilities with his longtime nemesis, Kevin Owens in NXT in 2015.
Despite being one of the most likeable wrestlers of all time, Zayn has enjoyed his greatest success in WWE as a heel. He memorably aligned himself with Owens at Hell in a Cell 2017 and the pair enjoyed great success as a team, most notably opposite SmackDown General Managers, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan.
Zayn is currently enjoying his third reign as Intercontinental Champion. Given his somewhat comedic character, it seems unlikely he will ascend the ladder any further, but given his priceless performances, championship wins and incredible in-ring talent, a WWE Hall of Fame spot is assured.
Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens made his name as Kevin Steen in Ring of Honor between 2007 and 2014. He held the Ring of Honor Title between 2012 and 2013 and had stunning feuds with the likes of El Generico (Sami Zayn).
When Owens finally made it to WWE, he immediately targeted Zayn and soon relieved him of the NXT Championship. While holding the NXT Title, Owens challenged John Cena and shockingly pinned WWE’s top star in a blistering bout at Elimination Chamber on May 31, 2015. Although KO dropped the next two matches in their feud, his performances were nothing short of jaw dropping.
Owens WWE career peaked when he lifted the Universal Title on the August 29, Raw. ‘The Prizefighter’ enjoyed a strong run as champion, which was highlighted by an alliance with Chris Jericho. However, the expected Universal Championship match between the pair at WrestleMania 33 was derailed when Owens dropped the title to Goldberg at Fastlane on March 5, 2017. The pair disappointingly then contested a lacklustre match-up at ‘The Showcase of the Immortals.’
Although KO has not reached the pinnacle of the industry again, he has been a mainstay of the upper mid-card and contested classic matches with the likes of Zayn, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan and many, many others.
Owens still has so much to achieve in his career, but if his WWE tenure ended tomorrow, he would undoubtedly receive the call for the WWE Hall of Fame. By the time the curtain goes down on his career, he may have earned his own wing.
The Miz
It took Mike Mizanin a long time to gain acceptance from his peers as a legitimate wrestler. Viewed as a reality star who had not “paid his dues”, The Miz was lambasted on commentary by JBL and often made to dress outside of the boy’s locker room.
The Miz first began to develop as a performer when he teamed with John Morrison to form a Tag Team title winning tandem. Most expected Morrison to go on to main event status as a singles star. However, it was The Miz who ascended the card by winning multiple mid-card titles and the Money in the Bank contract. The Miz cashed in to dethrone Randy Orton for the gold on the November 22, 2010 Raw. He successfully defended the strap versus John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania XXVII.
In the decade since, The Miz has been a mainstay in the upper mid-card and won a second WWE Championship by cashing in on Drew McIntyre at Elimination Chamber 2021. That came after he cashed in another Money in the Bank contract, which he had snared from contract holder, Otis.
With eight tag team titles, eight Intercontinental titles and two United States titles, in addition to his two World titles, The Miz is one of the most decorated superstars in WWE history. A WWE Hall of Fame induction is assured.
Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio first landed in WWE almost 20 years ago and is still going strong at the age of 47.
Mysterio wrestled his first match when he was just 13 years of age and after making a name for himself in Mexico, finally landed in the United States as part of ECW in 1995. The following year, he signed a long term deal with WCW and quickly became the focal point of the company’s fledgling Cruiserweight division. Mysterio performed breath-taking aerials, the likes of which had never been seen before, on his way to five Cruiserweight Titles.
Like many performers in the dying days of WCW, Mysterio found himself lost in the shuffle from 1999 onwards. Given his diminished status and small stature, it seemed implausible that WWE would even sign him to a contract, let alone allow the former Filthy Animal to shine in the company.
However, Mysterio has surpassed all expectations in the land of the giants and won the 2006 Royal Rumble match, from the number two spot no less. He has reigned as World and WWE Champion and also held the Intercontinental, United States and Tag Team gold on multiple occasions.
Mysterio will headline a future WWE Hall of Fame class, that is certain.
Randy Orton
Randy Orton has been part of WWE’s main roster for an uninterrupted 20 years. In those two decades he has become one of the most honoured superstars in company history.
Cutting his teeth as a member of Raw’s premier brand, Evolution, Orton was a long reigning Intercontinental Champion. A memorable feud with Mick Foley culminated in a bloody Streetfight at Backlash 2004. That put ‘The Legend Killer’ on a one way ticket to the top. Orton became the youngest World Champion in WWE history when he RKO’d Chris Benoit to lift the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004. That title win precipitated a split from Evolution the following night on Raw and a divorce from the strap four weeks later at Unforgiven.
Orton rebuilt his status in a long-running feud with The Undertaker in 2005 and lifting the WWE Championship twice in one night at No Mercy 2007. in the 15 years since, ‘The Viper’ has added another 11 World straps to his CV and won the Royal Rumble match twice.
At 41 years of age, Orton is putting in the finest performances of his career in tandem with his RK-Bro tag team partner, Riddle.
Despite his two decades in WWE, Orton is as fresh now as he was in 2002. He will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as soon as he calls time on his legendary career.
Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair may have only been part of WWE’s main roster for two years but ‘The EST’ has already achieved so much, that a WWE Hall of Fame nod is undoubtedly in her future.
Belair debuted on the Raw brand the night after WrestleMania 36. However her time on the brand was largely inconsequential and it wasn’t until she was drafted to SmackDown in October 2020 that she began to pick up some momentum.
‘The EST’ won the 2021 Royal Rumble match and captured the SmackDown Women’s Championship in the main event of Night One of WrestleMania 37.
After a reign that took in some blistering battles, particularly opposite Bayley, Belair finally came unstuck in an unadvertised contest versus the returning, Becky Lynch. Belair has remained in the title mix ever since and looks likely to challenge Lynch at WrestleMania 38, should she win the Elimination Chamber, in what could well be another career night for the 32-year-old.
Sheamus
It’s well documented how quickly Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar ascended the WWE ladder and claimed the World Title in their rookie year. However, Sheamus also achieved that same feat.
The Irishman debuted on the ECW brand on June 20, 2009 before making the jump to Raw in October. Just two months later, Sheamus shockingly upended John Cena for the WWE Championship at TLC 2009.
Sheamus dropped the gold just two months later but reclaimed it from Cena at Fatal 4 Way in June 2010. Sheamus won the 2012 Royal Rumble match and famously relieved Daniel Bryan of the World Heavyweight Title in just 18 seconds.
‘The Celtic Warrior’ captured the Money in the Bank briefcase and cashed in successfully on Roman Reigns at the 2015 Survivor Series. That was Sheamus’s final World Title reign.
Sheamus has been a fixture in the upper mid-card for the past six years, reigning as Tag Team and United States Champion on multiple occasions.
The 44-year-old is a dead cert for the WWE Hall of Fame when he retires.
Natalya
Natalya is one of the longest tenured performers in WWE. Debuting on the main roster in 2007, Natalya has reigned as Women’s Champion on two occasions, having held the Diva’s Title and SmackDown Women’s Title once each.
Most recently, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer, Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart captured the Women’s Tag Team Titles with Tamina.
After 15 years in WWE and acting as a bridge between the Diva’s era and the current generation of female performers, Natalya has earned her spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Charlotte
Charlotte Flair is the finest Western female performer of her era. After inheriting her father Ric Flair’s vast array of wrestling skills, ‘The Queen’ began training for a wrestling career in 2012 at the age of 26.
Flair rose to prominence in NXT, winning the NXT Women’s Title in 2014 and holding the belt for 258 days. She jumped to the main roster in 2015 and quickly captured her first main roster Diva’s Title, ending Nikki Bella’s record 301 day reign at Night of Champions.
‘The Queen’ has added 12 more Women’s Championships to her CV in the subsequent six years and holds the distinction of being the first woman to headline a pay-per-view with Sasha Banks. Along with Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch, Flair headlined WrestleMania 35, marking the first time women had competed in the main event of the show.
If Flair retired tomorrow, she would be a first ballot Hall of Famer for 2023. She may well one day be the first woman to headline a WWE Hall of Fame class.
Naomi
Naomi is one of the longest tenured female performers in WWE, having worked on the main roster since January 2012. With a flashy move-set and strong connection with the audience, Naomi soon made a splash in WWE.
After a forgettable run as one half of the Funkadactyls, Naomi grew as a singles performer. This culminated in a SmackDown Women’s Title win at the 2017 Elimination Chamber event. Naomi would regain the belt in a six-way bout at WrestleMania 33 just two months later.
Despite never reclaiming a Women’s Title, Naomi has remained an ever present in the title picture and on television.
Her long running dispute with Sonya Deville looks set to peak at WrestleMania 38. Naomi is well deserving of a WWE Hall of Fame berth.
Ronda Rousey

When WWE signed former UFC superstar, Ronda Rousey to a WWE contract, he star aura immediately gave additional credibility to WWE’s Women’s division.
Like her fellow former Olympian, Kurt Angle, Rousey picked up wrestling’s fundamentals astonishingly quickly, and her performance in her debut match; a tag bout, partnering Angle versus Triple H and Stephanie McMahon was jaw dropping.
After carrying Nia Jax to her best ever bout in what was Rousey’s first singles outing at Money in the Bank 2018, ‘Rowdy’ squashed Alexa Bliss to win the Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. That was a title she held until WrestleMania 35 the following year when she dropped the gold to Becky Lynch in the WrestleMania 35 main event.
After an extended hiatus in which she became a mother, Rousey returned to win the 2022 Royal Rumble match and book a date with Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title. Rousey will be expected to win that bout and capture her second World crown. Despite a short career in WWE, the UFC Hall of Famer has already achieved enough to warrant a spot in WWE’s Hall of Fame.
Shinsuke Nakamura
Shinsuke Nakamura was already a legendary performer when he joined WWE in 2016.
The youngest IWGP Champion in history had held New Japan’s premier title three times and also held the IWGP Intercontinental Title on five occasions.
Nakamura reigned as NXT Champion twice and was seen as a can’t miss act when he made his long awaited debut on main roster WWE television. Unfortunately, after a strong start, Nakamura was sacrificed to Jinder Mahal of all people in a dire series of matches over the WWE Championship.
Bouncing back, he won the 2018 Royal Rumble match and seemed destined to snare the World Title at WrestleMania. However, he dropped his title opportunity versus WWE Champion, AJ Styles. Nakamura then continued to come up short in a series of rematches.
Although he has since dropped down the card, Nakamura nevertheless has captured both the Intercontinental and United States Titles on two occasions.
The 41-year-old appears to have lost his fire for the business and despite the disappointment of his WWE run, his prior work in New Japan more than qualifies him for a WWE Hall of Fame spot.
Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar was christened ‘The Next Big Thing’ when he burst onto the scene on the post-WrestleMania X-8 Raw on March 18, 2002.
Lesnar more than delivered on that moniker as he blitzed everyone in his path as he ascended the ranks in double quick time. Lesnar won the 2002 King of the Ring tournament and claimed the Undisputed WWE Championship from The Rock in the excellent main event of SummerSlam 2002.
‘The Next Big Thing’s’ reign and undefeated streak was terminated by The Big Show of all people at the 2002 Survivor Series. However, despite the ignominy of that defeat, Lesnar bounced back to win the 2003 Royal Rumble and reclaim the gold in the main event of his first ever WrestleMania.
Despite his incredible rise to the top of WWE, Lesnar departed WWE after WrestleMania XX. After a seven year absence ‘The Pain’ returned to the company on the post-WrestleMania 28 Raw. Making up for lost time, ‘The Beast’ has gone on to headline three more WrestleMania events, terminate The Undertaker’s 21-0 WrestleMania undefeated streak and capture six more WWE Championships and the Universal Title on three occasions.
As a special attraction, crossover star and perennial headline act, ‘The Beast’ deserves his own wing in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch carved out a niche in NXT and became one of the standout performers on the brand.
She carried that success over to the main roster and became the first ever SmackDown Women’s Champion. She held that strap for three months before dropping the gold to Alexa Bliss.
After getting lost in the shuffle, Lynch recaptured momentum in the summer of 2018 and created ‘The Man’ persona, which led her to a second SmackDown Women’s Championship reign at Hell in a Cell.
After losing the belt to Asuka, Lynch won the 2019 Royal Rumble match and famously captured both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles in the main event of WrestleMania 35. Lynch soon dropped the SmackDown Women’s Title but held the Raw Women’s Championship for over a year, before vacated the title due to pregnancy.
Lynch returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2021 as a surprise opponent for SmackDown Women’s Champion, Bianca Belair. She sucker punched Belair and won the title in a matter of seconds. Rechristening herself, ‘Big Time Becks’ Lynch has defeated all comers and enhanced her already legendary reputation.
Upon her retirement, Lynch will undoubtedly be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins under the ring name, Tyler Black whipped up a storm as Ring of Honor Champion between 2009 and 2010. Rollins then made the jump to WWE and became the inaugural NXT Champion on August 29, 2012.
His impact on the main roster was even greater when he debuted with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose as The Shield at the 2012 Survivor Series.
After a stunning 18 month run as a squad that decimated everyone in their path, it was Rollins who was responsible for the faction’s split. In a historic moment, ‘The Architect’ smashed Reigns and Ambrose with brutal chair shots and became the centrepiece of The Authority.
A Money in the Bank win catapulted him to the WWE World Title. A belt he held between WrestleMania 31 and November 5, 2015 when he was forced to vacate the gold due to a torn ACL, MCL and damaged meniscus.
Rollins recaptured the belt on his return from injury at the 2016 Money in the Bank event. However, that reign was much shorter than his first as he dropped the strap moments later when Ambrose cashed in his Money in the Bank opportunity.
In 2019, Rollins drastically changed his character and became ‘The Monday Night Messiah.’ In 2022, Rollins is still one of the top stars in WWE.
A WWE Hall of Fame induction is assured.
Roman Reigns
The reigning Universal Champion is a future WWE Hall of Fame headliner. Currently enjoying a record reign of over 500 days; Reigns is the longest reigning WWE World Champion in 24 years, since Hulk Hogan’s first WWE Championship run ended in February 1988.
Reigns burst onto the scene in electric fashion as one third of the formidable faction christened The Shield. After blitzing everyone in their path, WWE’s premier faction shockingly split when Seth Rollins turned his back on his buddied and aligned himself with The Authority.
As a singles star, ‘The Big Dog’ won the 2015 Royal Rumble match and captured the WWE Championship on three occasions. However, the WWE Universe rejected Reigns as a babyface star.
After an extended absence from the ring, Reigns returned to WWE at SummerSlam with a new attitude. ‘The Tribal Chief’ aligned himself with the dastardly Paul Heyman and ended ‘The Fiend’s’ Universal Title reign at Payback on August 30, 2020.
With a character that finally elicits the correct response from the masses and a succession of sterling in-ring performances in the bank, Reigns has earned a WWE Hall of Fame spot on the back of the past 18 months alone. Add in his wealth of phenomenal achievements in the 8 years prior to that and Reigns is without doubt the most deserving future WWE Hall of Famer in the company today.
You can watch every WWE Hall of Fame ceremony exclusively on the WWE Network.
