Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker vs. Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams – Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals

NXT Vengeance Day 2024

Trick Williams competes in his first match of the night when he and Hayes take on the Wolf Dogs in the finals of the 9th Dusty Classic finals.

Both teams competed in fun and exciting matches on their way to the final. The unlikely duo of Breakker and Corbin dispatched Gallus and Axiom and Nathan Frazer with brutal power while Hayes and Williams took down Edris Enofé and Malik Blade and The LWO with effective prowess.

Predictions: These a the two perfect teams to reach the final. Breaker and Corbin work very well together and have been extremely effective force. Hayes and Williams although life-long friends have not been without their problems, plus Williams has his NXT Championship match against Ilja Dragunov on his mind. These issues will undoubtedly be a major factor in the outcome of the match and the main event. The Wolf Dogs win.

Dijak vs. Joe Gacy – No Disqualification

NXT Vengeance Day 2024

After weeks of inflicting violence on one another Dijak and Gacy will attempt to settle their differences in a No Disqualification match.

On the January 30th edition of NXT, the two fought for the entirety of the show. The brawl spilled outside the Performance Center and in a shocking moment, saw Dijak toss Gacy off a platform and into a dumpster, below. While being reprimanded for his actions by Ava, Dijak requested a No DQ match, which Gacy emerged out of the dumpster to accept.

Prediction: Both Dijak and Gacy are known for their hard-hitting styles, and the No DQ stipulation guarantees an all-out war. Since the breakdown of Gacy’s faction, Schism, his behaviour has become erratic and shown elements of multiple personalities. Dijak is still enjoying a career resurgence in NXT, but there is more upside in Gacy. Expect weapons, barbarity and Gacy to emerge victorious. Joe Gacy wins.

The Family vs. OTM

NXT Vengeance Day 2024

This six-person mixed tag team match was made after the bad blood between the two factions reached boiling point. After OTM unsuccessfully challenged The Family for the NXT Tag Team Championships they along with Jaida Parker trashed D’Angelo’s restaurant and attacked Adriana Rizzo. The Family responded by swearing revenge and attacking them in return, thus setting up the mixed tag match.

Predictions: The two factions While the Family are the more experienced team it would make sense that OTM get the victory resulting in another Tag Team Championship match in the future. OTM wins.

Oba Femi (c) vs. Dragon Lee – North American Championship

NXT Vengeance Day 2024

Dragon Lee gets the chance to get the North Championship back when he faces the intimidating champion, Oba Femi.

Femi won the title when cashed in his NXT Breakout Tournament contract after Lee had just defended it against Lexis King. Following the loss Lee, confronted Femi, demanding an immediate rematch but the new champion refused to answer his request. Femi eventually accepted the challenge setting up his first defence of the title.

Prediction: It is clear there are very big things ahead for Oba Femi in NXT. His brief but explosive time on the roster has been impressive and his victory over a talent like Dragon Lee will continue his rise. Oba Femi retains.

Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Roxanne Perez – Women’s Championship

NXT Vengeance Day 2024

Lyra Valkyria defends the title for the third time against, former champion Roxanne Perez. The prodigy forced her way back into title contention by winning a Number One Contender Battle Royal/Fatal Four Way on the January 16th edition of NXT.

The champion and challenger have been civil in the lead to the PLE but Tattum Paxley’s association with Valkyria raises questions. Paxley’s interference in past matches hints at potential manipulation or betrayal, while Perez has recently shown a darker, more violent side, which adds further intrigue to the title match.

Predictions: The two young stars are on a level playing field talent wise and either could walk away with the title. Butit is too early for Valkyeria to lose the championship and Perez seems to on her way to a heel turn, which could be spurred by the loss. Lyra Valkyria retains.

Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Trick Williams – NXT Championship

NXT Vengeance Day 2024

At Deadline 2023, Williams emerged victorious in the gruelling Iron Survivor Challenge, becoming the Number One Contender for the NXT Championship. But his scheduled title shot at New Year’s Evil was called off due to the champion getting injured in a controversial angle with Ridge Holland.

While Dragunov recovered Williams and Carmelo Hayes competed in the Dusty Classic and reached the finals meaning he his pulling double duty at the PLE. The champion has questioned Williams’ focus while his fractured friendship with Hayes and the result of the tag team tournament finals will all play into the outcome.

Prediction: While the match is all about Dragunov and Williams, the shadow of Carmelo Hayes looms large. The former champion has history with the Mad Dragon, and his long-running troubles with Williams brings the threat of ill-timed interference or even a full-blown betrayal to spoil Trick’s chances of winning the title. Ilja Dragunov retains.
