Former WWE Superstar Raven Was In Charge Of A Marine Platoon
During a recent episode of the Cafe de Rene podcast, OVW manager Kenny Bolin recalled a story told by Raven where the former ECW World Champion explained how he was not happy in charge of a platoon.
“I found out yesterday Raven was in the Marines. Does Raven strike you as a Marine guy? Not me. That’s what I told him. I said, ‘I can’t do the Marines’ and I said, ‘I’m shocked you did.’ He said, ‘I was so good at it. They put me in charge of one of the platoons.’ He says, ‘I tried to get fired and they wouldn’t fire me. I was that good at it,'” Bolin said
For several years, Scott Levy entertained numerous wrestling fans. While he is best known as Raven, he also had runs in World Championship Wrestling as Scotty Flamingo and Scotty The Body. In WWE, Levy had a run as Johnny Polo, a manager. Throughout his career, Raven has been WWE Hardcore Champion, NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion, ECW World Heavyweight Champion, ECW Tag Team Champion, and WCW United States Champion.
Raven last competed in February 2020 when he & Justin Credible lost an ARW Tag Team Championship match against Jason Dugan & JD Dalton at an Atomic Revolutionary Wrestling event in Florida. In 2022, he was inducted into the IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Fame by his longest rival, Tommy Dreamer.
