20 Questions With Deonna Purrazzo

20 Questions Deonna Purrazzo FI

Readers of the Inside The Ropes Magazine will be familiar with our 20 Questions feature, where the likes of MJF, Rhea Ripley, and most recently Mr Money in the Bank Austin Theory have answered a series of comical questions that you won’t find in any other wrestling interview!

Well, Deonna Purrazzo, a stalwart of IMPACT Wrestling’s Knockouts division over the past two years, has answered our questions ahead of her Knockouts World Championship number one contender’s bout vs. Masha Slamovich on this Thursday’s IMPACT on AXS TV.

To hear more about Deonna’s IMPACT career thus far, you can head to the “Wrestling News” section of ITRWrestling.com. But to find out what her favourite cheat meal is or who would be the guests at her dinner party, read on!

What’s your favourite cheat meal?

Oh, a cheeseburger.

What’s your favourite video game?

[WWE] SmackDown vs. Raw 2006 is probably the last video game I played.

It’s a good choice to be fair! If you had a day off, a day of Netflix and chill, what are you watching?

Steve [Maclin} and I are watching Mayans, which is the spinoff of Sons of Anarchy, right now.

Perfect choice! What movie have you seen the most?

The Departed.

Which actor would play you in a movie about your life?

Ooohh, maybe Sandra Bullock!

What’s your favourite band or musician?

I just got asked this and I was like, ‘I don’t really have a favourite brand.’ I feel like the answer should be a Metallica or an AC/DC, but I don’t have a favourite band.

If you could listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

One song? I think that I would listen to Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton.

Pineapple on pizza – yes or no?

Yeah, why not?

Controversial! What’s your secret talent?

Oh, I can finger spell in sign language, the alphabet.

If you were stuck on a desert island, what three items would you take?

I would take Steve, my cellphone, and I would take cheese.

If you weren’t a wrestler, what would you be?

I would be a history teacher.

Not involving you, what match have you rewatched the most?

Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Guerrero at WCW Fall Brawl [1997], I believe is what it was.

Nice one! What’s your pre-match ritual, if you have one?

Yeah, not so much a ritual but I just try to take five minutes to do a quick little prayer, think about the match, think about the things I want to go right, hope it doesn’t go wrong, and then I’m ready to go.

Who’s the biggest locker room prankster you’ve met and why?

I don’t know, I kind of want to say Jordynne [Grace], only because Jordynne takes candid photos of all of us, all of the time [laughs]. So we’ve gotten really funny photos, but I don’t know.

What’s your most annoying habit?

Well, I think that I bite my fingernails. But then I feel that if you ask Steve that question, he would say something different [laughs].

What’s the weirdest fan request you’ve received?

Oh, God. So Chelsea [Green] and I did the meet and greet over the weekend [12/13 August] in Chicago, day two of our TV tapings, and a fan wanted me to [Irish] whip him off and Chelsea to grab him in a headlock and choke him, and do that for the picture. Chelsea and I were both like, ‘What is happening?!’, so that’s the most recent.

Well, did you do it?

Uh, no. I didn’t even know what to say, I was like, ‘What did this person just say?’ And Chelsea was like, ‘Well, we’re not gonna do that, but you’re more than welcome to stand between us [laughs].

Growing up, who was your wrestling idol?

Trish Stratus.

Who would your dream match be?

With Trish Stratus [laughs].

What’s the best present you’ve ever received?

I feel like it’s my engagement ring. As a kid, my mom would do one big Christmas present every year for my brother and I – we’re twins – we both loved wrestling obviously. She did a whole scavenger hunt Christmas morning, the last gift was WrestleMania XXIV tickets.

Oh, that’s a good WrestleMania to go to as well! And just to end off, dead or alive, who would be the guests at your dinner party?

JFK.
