20 Questions With Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green 20 Questions

Readers of Issue 10 of Inside The Ropes Magazine may have spotted a new feature with WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston where we asked the former WWE Champion 20 questions and got some unique and bizarre answers to the questions that won’t be asked in any other wrestling interview! The feature has, of course continued to Issue 11 where MJF gave us his answers and Issue 12 which will feature Rhea Ripley!

Well, the feature has been so popular that we decided it shouldn’t simply be confined to our monthly magazine – so Inside The Ropes‘ Lead Writer Gary Cassidy pitched our 20 Questions to Chelsea Green!

If you’d prefer to read about Chelsea Green’s career, that interview is available here, but if you want to know the former SmackDown star’s favourite band, cheat meal, or what items she would want if she were stranded on a desert island, read on!

What’s your favourite cheat meal?

Buttery popcorn – and that’s why I’m such a movie lover!

What’s your favourite video game?

So I don’t play video games, but if I could, I would go back and play any Nintendo 64 game.

What would you be watching if you had a day of Netflix and chill?

Right now, currently I’m watching Dynasty, but I LOVE cheesy Netflix rom-coms!

Which movie have you seen the most?

Harry Potter! All of them. I’m a HUGE Harry Potter fan!

Which actor should play you in a movie about your life?

Well, I want to say Jessica Alba, but at THAT time, she will be . . . She’ll be older than me!

So let’s go with . . . To try to stay current and Gen Z, let’s go with Addison Rae, but if we could ‘Benjamin Button’ Jessica Alba . . .

Chelsea Green / Jessica Alba

What’s your favourite musician or band?

I would say Bryan Adams, Shania Twain and The Eagles. I like a bit of everything.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

‘Baby, When You’re Gone’ by Bryan Adams and Mel C!

SUCH an underrated song! My mom and my sister and I used to jam out to that song every day in the car going home. Every time I hear it, it just reminds me of home.

Pineapple on pizza – yes or no?

Absolutely! Always! Since I was born, always!

If it’s good enough for The Rock…

If The Rock loves pineapple on pizza, THEN WE ALL DO!

What three items would you take if you were stuck on a desert island?

The first one is easiest. Or the first two. I need lotion and I need Chapstick – and I know that’s so crazy, but I have this phobia of having dry skin.

And then I guess the third one is a practical one and that’s protein powder. It makes me sound like a gym freak, but I promise you, it’s just for practicality!

What’s your secret talent?

I think interview skills and talking to people, and just truly getting to know people!

It’s something that my mom always thought I was good at, and my grandma did, and I never realised until I got older and was in wrestling.

OH! OH! OH! ALSO – I CAN DO THE WORM!

What’s your most annoying habit?

Probably . . . my love of gossip. I LOVE hearing the juice and the tea – and I can’t help it. I love it!

If you weren’t a wrestler, what would you be?

Definitely a TV host. I would love to be a TV host for current events, pop culture and just talk about what’s going on in celebrities’ lives right now.

What wrestling match (not involving you) do you rewatch the most?

Oh, WrestleMania X, Bret vs Owen.

That’s one I absolutely LOVE and I go back to – to think about the basics. The basics of storytelling, the basics of wrestling. Everything!

What’s your pre-match ritual?

So, funnily enough, I actually don’t have a pre-match ritual!

I DO like to eat some sort of candy before I go out. I don’t really drink energy drinks, but I’ll eat like Sour Patch Kids or, in Canada, we have Cherry Blasters, Fuzzy Peaches . . . Something like that to get my sugar spiked.

Although, Deonna and I, when we’re a tag team, we bump fists and we say, “Grace.” That’s it. So, like, when you’re sitting at the table and your mom says, “OK, say Grace, Chelsea,” and you just say, “Grace.” It’s like a little cheeky thing that we do.

Who’s the biggest locker room prankster you have ever met and why?

You know what? I don’t really think that I’ve encountered any. Not like the guys do! I think the girls are, like, REALLY respectful of each other.

But I would just say there was a lot of joking around my time at IMPACT. We were really good friends. It was me, Rosemary, Sienna, Allie, Mia Yim, Madison Rayne, and we loved just kind of playing around with each other, but nothing crazy there – surprisingly not with girls!

What’s the weirdest fan request you’ve ever had?

I’m at this weird point in my career where it’s 50-50 whether people know who I am. Any place that isn’t near a wrestling ring, when people ask me for an autograph or a picture, it always shocks me.

I think the funniest is when people kind of RUN by me and SCREAM my name and then keep going, and I’m like, “Wait, what?” But the weirdest requests are always the feet pictures. I just don’t get that! Feet really freak me out and I get a lot of feet requests, and I just don’t understand that.

What’s the best present you’ve ever received?

Oh, the best person I’ve ever received would be my engagement ring because it’s a present because it was on my birthday, but also it was a surprise because I got engaged on my birthday, WrestleMania Weekend, in New York.

Who was your wrestling idol growing up?

Kelly Kelly!

I love her! And it’s funny because I actually think she’s, like, my age.

She could be my friend – and I WANT her to be my friend! But I look up to her and now it’s funny because I look up to her, like, for social media or makeup looks or things like that. She’s a perfect specimen.

Who is your all-time dream opponent and why?

It would be myself vs Trish vs Nattie – at a SummerSlam or something in Canada. Just all Canadian. Hometown.

I haven’t really had that many chances to go back to Canada and wrestle so it would be the ultimate for three Canadian girls to do it.

Staggered ages and experiences, and three different divisions to an extent. Nattie’s been around ‘til the end of time, I think it would be epic!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I think my guilty pleasure is . . . Hallmark movies with buttery popcorn on the couch, in my sweatpants, with my hair up on the top of my head.

Who would be the guests, from anyone throughout history, at your dream dinner party and why?

Okay, I would pick Jessica Alba. Pamela Anderson, and then I would pick . . . Maybe Obama. Maybe Obama!

I really like Obama, but I would want Obama to bring . . . I would want it to be ALL of the Obamas.

Like, really, I want to talk to Michelle but I was like, “I think I should probably have Barack there,” but yeah, because then I get Jessica Alba because I love her, Pamela Anderson because she’s such an icon and, like, I love her body confidence and she’s everything I kind of stand for – also Canadian – and then, of course, Obama because he’s a legend.

And if I could add ONE more person, I would also ask Princess Diana!
