I can’t believe I am writing this: it is with the deepest regret that I have to announce that I have to cancel the upcoming ITR tour with Paul Wight.
I want to be open and honest with you guys about why. Earlier this week, I was taking care of some logistics for the upcoming tour when I began to have a sudden onslaught of physical pains presenting themselves similarly to that of an acute heart attack and I was taken into hospital immediately for testing. It turned out to be a panic attack, but it was still terrifying.
In the past when I ran tours, I was able to find a way to cope as the sort of one-man band who puts these tours together for months before the actual dates. But if I’m being honest with myself, the Undertaker shows in April 2019 affected me more than I knew. I tried to shake it and kept running events. Then out of nowhere COVID hit and we had to cancel a bunch of events, placing Inside The Ropes under extreme financial pressure and bringing our, like many others, livelihoods into question.
Additional challenges and complications that arose due to the COVID-19 Pandemic piled on and created severe implications on my physical and mental health with medical guidance and advice being offered to me and informing me that the best move for my long term mental/physical health was to remove myself from high stressful environments for the foreseeable future, including the upcoming tour.
I'd like to thank Paul and his team for their patience and for being so understanding of this situation. They are true professionals and were a pleasure to deal with.
The response to our first show back with a legend like Paul Wight has been so great with so many of you buying tickets and supporting us, but as a result the logistics became so much bigger and my body couldn’t handle the stress/pressure involved and began to breakdown.
So, it’s with great sadness that I can’t run any ITR events now or for the foreseeable future. This situation has made me realise that doing these shows by myself does not work for me, and unless there is a different way to do them, I just don’t know if I can do them anymore.
I want to thank all of the talent who’ve worked with me over the years, all of the crew who’ve worked on our shows and most importantly anyone who’s ever bought a ticket to an Inside The Ropes show. I’m more grateful than you know and so sorry to anyone let down by this.
I appreciate and understand the disappointment you will be feeling and I want to ensure I help as much as I can during this time.
