Masami Odate, better known as Iyo Sky, was born on May 8th, 1990 in Kamakura, Kanagawa, Japan. She is a professional wrestler currently signed to WWE.
She began her wrestling journey in 2007 at the age of 16, debuting under the ring name Io Shirai. She initially formed a tag team with her sister, Mio Shirai, known as Team Makehen. IYO SKY made her main roster debut at SummerSlam 2022. She appeared alongside Bayley and Dakota Kai, forming the faction known as Damage CTRL. This trio quickly made an impact by confronting top stars Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch. Subsequently, Sky and Kai captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships by defeating Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah, solidifying their status within the women’s division.
At the Money in the Bank event in 2023, IYO SKY ascended to new heights by winning the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. She capitalized on this opportunity at SummerSlam 2023, cashing in her contract to defeat Bianca Belair and become the WWE Women’s Champion for the first time in her career.
Sky captured WWE Women’s World Champion when she defeated Rhea Ripley on March 3rd episode of Raw making her 7th Grand Slam Champion in the process.
