Tom Budgen, better known as Aleister Black, was born in Alkmaar, Netherlands, on May 19, 1985. He is a professional wrestler currently signed to WWE.

From an early age, Black was interested in martial arts, particularly kickboxing and Muay Thai, which he studied extensively and later incorporated into his wrestling style.

He began his wrestling career on the European independent circuit in 2002 under the ring name Tommy End. He wrestled for many promotions across Europe, such as wXw, PROGRESS Wrestling, and ICW, before heading stateside for CZW, Evolve and PWG.

In 2006, he signed with WWE and was given the new ring name of Aleister Black. He debuted at NXT TakeOver: Orlando in April 2017, defeating Andrade Almas. Black quickly became one of the brand’s top stars and captured the NXT Championship a year after his debut.

Black moved to the main roster in 2019, appearing on both RAW and SmackDown. However, despite having strong matches against names like Cesaro, Buddy Murphy, and Seth Rollins, creative struggles and inconsistent booking plagued his main roster run. After months of being off television and a teased return, WWE unexpectedly released Aleister Black on June 2, 2021.

Shortly after his release, he debuted in AEW as Malakai Black on July 7, 2021, attacking both Cody Rhodes and Arn Anderson. He formed the House of Black, a dark faction including Brody King, Buddy Matthews and Julia Hart ,but was once again harmed by inconsistent booking and lengthy absences from AEW television.

Black left AEW in 2025 and returned to WWE on the post-WrestleMania 41 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
