WWE legend The Undertaker has reflected on his involvement in two major milestones in Monday Night Raw’s history—its debut episode in 1993 and its move to Netflix in 2025.
Speaking on his podcast, Six Feet Under, The Undertaker recalled wrestling on the very first episode of Raw on January 11, 1993, where he defeated Damien Demento. He highlighted the significance of WWE’s transition to live television at the time.
“I look back to how big and significant going to live TV was and just think about that because prior to January 1993, we taped everything and the only talent you saw was talent in enhancement matches. You didn’t see any main event kind of stuff that you started getting on live TV.”
Fast forward 31 years, and Raw made history again with its premiere on Netflix on January 6, 2025. Undertaker reflected on how much the industry has evolved and how honoured he feels to have been part of both groundbreaking moments.
“So just think from how big that was for the wrestling industry to here we are 31 years later with something that is just mind-blowing. It’s crazy, but for me, the real icing on the cake is to actually be a part of both of those shows. So whatever happens in 31 more years—which I don’t think I’m going to be around for—it was kind of cool to say that two of the biggest things that have happened in the wrestling industry, I was a part of.”
The transition to Netflix marks a new era for Raw, and for Undertaker, it’s another historic moment in a career filled with legendary achievements.
Elsewhere, a WWE Hall of Famer has admitted he wasn’t sure how The Undertaker would take to his new role as a coach.
Which Dangerous Spot Did The Undertaker Say He Would Never Do Again?
The Undertaker spoke about a dicey spot he performed that he said he would never do again and spoke about the spot during his 2008 TLC match against Edge at the One Night Stand pay-per-view where he was sent flying from the top of a ladder inside of the ring and crashed through four tables set up outside the ring below. Despite the risks, Undertaker said that it was far from the worst bump he’d ever taken but still does not wish to ever do it again.
