Former WWE Champion and current TNA star Jeff Hardy opened up about a pivotal moment in his early wrestling career that left him “terrified.”
During a candid discussion on “Busted Open Radio,” Jeff Hardy recalled his unforgettable match against Razor Ramon, the iconic character portrayed by Scott Hall, when he was just 16 years old. This match marked a significant milestone for the young Hardy, who faced a future WWE Hall of Famer in a high-stakes environment.
Hardy described the experience as both daunting and formative, revealing how it nearly extinguished his passion for wrestling before it had a chance to flourish. Reflecting on the match, Hardy stated:
When I think about that match, I just know that the ring back then was so hard. I was probably 185-190 pounds, and oh, it was so hard. We had never been in it before, and he [Scott Hall] was stiff with a few things. I was 16, just terrified, you know? It was just rough.
The intensity of the match left Hardy questioning his future in the sport, admitting:
When it was over, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t ever want to do that again.’
However, Hardy’s passion for wrestling was reignited the very next night when he faced off against Sean Waltman, known then as the 1-2-3 Kid.
It just refilled my soul; it was fun again,
He recalled, highlighting the resilience that would come to define his career.
