Jim Cornette recounted a dramatic and heated altercation with Brock Lesnar during Lesnar’s early career in the WWE developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. The conflict, which almost led to Cornette threatening Lesnar with a firearm, arose from Lesnar’s treatment of Cornette’s wife, Stacey, who performed as the character Synn.
Jim Cornette detailed the incident in an episode of his podcast, “The Jim Cornette Experience,” explaining that Stacey had recently gotten piercings and had warned Lesnar to be careful when performing a press slam on her during a match.
Brock would give Synn a press slam.
Cornette recalled, noting that Lesnar had been teasing Stacey about squeezing her despite her warnings.
Stacey had just had certain parts of her anatomy pierced… so she told Brock earlier in the day, ‘Hey when you give me the press slam, watch out, take care of the nether regions.’
Despite Stacey’s warnings, Lesnar followed through with his threat.
He goes and gives her the press slam, and he f***ing clamps down and squeezes with his right hand.
Cornette said, describing how Stacey returned backstage in tears and pain. This led to a confrontation where both Stacey and Lesnar exchanged heated words. Cornette intervened when he heard the commotion.
She tells me, ‘He’s been saying he’s gonna do it all day, and he f***ing did it.’
In the ensuing argument, Lesnar reportedly cursed at Stacey in front of Cornette, prompting Cornette’s intense reaction.
I had to say, ‘Look, motherf***er, you need to know this now. Don’t say f*** you to her in front of me cause I won’t fight you; I will shoot you!’
Which WWE Hall Of Famer Does Jim Cornette Think Could Have Taken Hulk Hogan’s Place In The 1980s?
Jim Cornette spoke about how Dusty Rhodes may have been able to take Hulk Hogan’s spot as the top babyface of the WWE in the early to mid-1980s. Cornette did say that a lot would have had to change for this to happen as Rhodes wouldn’t have looked like Hogan did physically but due to Rhodes’ popularity in the 70s, he may have been able to pull it off in 84.
