Kurt Angle shared insights on his time in TNA emphasising his preference for his TNA tenure over his WWE career.
Despite achieving significant success in WWE Kurt Angle, during an appearance on Busted Open Radio, expressed that he considers his work in TNA to be superior, attributing this sentiment to his personal growth and the calibre of matches he engaged in during his time at TNA.
I consider my work in TNA better than my work in WWE as well. And the reason is I kind of came into my own. I started out in pro wrestling, I only trained for 7 months before I went on television. That’s a very short period of time. And I was getting better and better. In my first two years, I was in the ring, I was following the wrestler that would talk me through the matches. I started getting better and better, and I became this great follower that I could start leading matches.
Angle revealed that his TNA experience allowed him to truly come into his own as a wrestler, highlighting his evolution from initially following guidance in matches to eventually leading them. He credited TNA for providing him with the platform to elevate his skills, particularly after approximately seven years in the wrestling business, enabling him to engage in memorable matches with esteemed talents such as AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Sting, Jeff Jarrett, Abyss, and Bobby Roode.
I’d say I became my best about 7 years into the business, and that’s when I went to TNA. I had some great matches with AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Sting, Jeff Jarrett, Abyss, and Bobby Roode; a lot of great talents that I got to work with that I was very honoured to go up against them in TNA. And I’m very proud of the career I had.
