Adam Copeland has further detailed his road to recovery and has received some good news from his doctor.
At AEW Double or Nothing, the Hall of Famer suffered a fractured tibia after diving off the top of the steel cage while defending the TNT Championship against Malakai Black. Within a few days of the spot occurring, Adam Copeland revealed that surgery would be required and that he would be out of action for the foreseeable future.
With Copeland approaching the end of his run inside the ring, there were concerns following the injury could bring the former TNT Champion’s career to a premature end for a second time. Thankfully, the AEW star has provided a positive update in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated:
“My Achilles tear a few years ago led to my most difficult rehab, and I’m expecting more of that,” said Copeland. “I’m 50. I know what’s in front of me.”
But the surgery was successful, and the doctor was optimistic because my bones are healthy. It’s my seventh surgery, so I know the drill. We’ll see how my body cooperates.”
Adam Copeland Elaborates On Mindset Prior To Cage Dive
The cage dive in question saw the Rated R Superstar dive off the top of the structure and land feet-first while making contact with Malakai Black, who was placed on a table and wrapped in barbed wire. During the same interview, Adam Copeland detailed what was going through his mind shortly before he leapt off the top of the cage.
Everyone at Inside The Ropes continues to wish Adam Copeland a full and speedy recovery.
